This is off topic but I was wondering how much weight your LOs gained between birth and their two month appt.

thanks for the info on roadtripping. I threw the idea of going overnight with my DH but he really wasn’t up for it. I might try and push the idea again. HA! I do plan on doing most feedings but thought it might be a good idea to have a bottle on hand in case we are in a spot where there is nowhere to stop and she melts down. I would like to do the…[Read more]

Ok, be honest, am I a terrible mom for giving my 3 wk old a pacifier? I am sitting here watching her with this thing shoved in her mouth and feel soooo guilty about it. I just can’t seem to pacify her myself!’i’ve changed her, fed her, which I knew she didn’t need because she spit it all back up, and still couldn’t get her to calm down and now I…[Read more]

Sorry for a change of subject but my nipple is bleeding! Everything I’ve read says it’s a latch issue. LO is almost 2 wks and I’ve been using nipple shields. Any advice on latching or how to heal it quickly would be great!

It took 5 weeks, but I finally did a whole feeding (both sides) without having to use the nipple shield!! I am so excited, I’ve been waiting for this day to come so I just wanted to share my happiness! Keep up the good work ladies!

Swinter-I just googled breastfeeding hat. They are sooo cute! Might have to get one. I’d love to know your list of what you’d do differently.

So, my parents are in town visiting this weekend and my mom asked if I had considered giving Rachel any water. I said no, why would I do that when she has boob juice! LOL! What’s with that generation and their fascination with water!?!

Hallelujah! Rachel only got up once last night! I was leaking like crazy when I woke up but the sleep felt sooooo good! Hoping it wasn’t a fluke! Just wanted to share my joy with you all 🙂 have a beautiful day!

I put my request in to join the facebook group but it wouldn’t let me attach a message. I’m Jen Klooster 🙂
I’m not giving up on this site though, I’ll still keep up on it.

Thanks Bri. Just had one of those breakdowns but the guilt overtook me so I took the paci away. I’ll give her the boob…
She is so close to sucking her thumb, which for some reason I’m ok with, I think its the whole discovering her body aspect of it…

we are doing a 14 hr road trip in two weeks with a 2 month old. i would like to pump a few bottles before that to have in the car with us for emergency breakdowns but I know absolutely nothing about pumping. I have a manual pump from the hospital that I’m going to take with me also. Does anyone have any advice for a trip like this and/or can…[Read more]

klara-‘so what I’m reading is that your LO has only been on formula for 48 hours or is that wrong? If it’s only been 48 hours I would think you would be fine, just get your LO back on the breast ASAP. Just her sucking and skin contact should bump you back up. You can always have fermented oats and mothers milk tea. I dont have much experience but…[Read more]

Rosie-good for you. I was told some years ago that I might not be able to bf also because I have small/inverted nipples. I didn’t listen! Haha! I’m bfing, although using a nipple shield. Hoping she will be able to do it on her own soon. Good luck

Annalyn-way to go! My LO is 2.5 wks and I am hoping she will also ditch the shield for the real thing when she’s ready. She has a good latch she just hasn’t figured out the sucking yet

Wow ladies, we sure are active today! I have a question for you more seasoned bfers. Rachel is a month old and has started only waking up once during the night (YAY!) Anyway, my bbs are so full when she finally wakes up but she is still only taking one bb per feeding, leaving my other one until morning. Is this going to eventually hurt my supply…[Read more]

I found washable ones at Motherhood Maternity stores here in the states. My only gripe is they are kind of bulky and, depending on what I’m wearing, you can see the outline of them through my shirt. I also have used Lansinoh, same gripe there. They come folded in half so you can sometimes see the crease.
