michelle007 – Mine are huge now too and I had to keep on buying bigger sizes as my pregnancy had progressed – so annoying and not cheap! At about your stage of 37 weeks, I went out and bought a nursing bra (the ones that you can undo from the front easily, like a drawbridge haha). It will help you out so much. What I do is wear a tank top over…[Read more]

Regarding parents and disagreements: every person and every relationship is different. My fiance is great but extremely stubborn. He knows that I do all kinds of research and reading all the time on baby/child-related matters. However, we have still argued over many parenting issues since day one. He has another daughter who is 15 from a past…[Read more]

hchina and Jody04 I am so gald you guys are feeling a bit better! hchina I so hope your supply will increase with more (albeit painful but not excrutiating) feedings! ;o) ….Also this is just a side note, but I think it helps with my supply: I eat alot of hardboiled eggs (the ones that are free range and have the Omega 3) and drink alot of…[Read more]

tj9779 – I have a daughter who is nearly 9 months that I had to breastfeed with only my right for the first 7 weeks of her life. She would not latch on to my left as that nipple is smaller and flatter. She would cry and scream every time I would try to latch her on it. So I had to pump my left all the time to prevent clogged ducts and mastitis…[Read more]

TannersMommy – yes my sweet little chunky monkey is ginormous! She was 8 lbs 2 oz at birth, 16.5 lbs at 2 months, 20.5 lbs at 3 and a half months, 24.5 lbs at 6 months, and now at 9 months is 29 lbs and over 31 inches! She is wearing 3T – I can’t keep up with her growing like a weed lol! She is ebf and I can only get her to eat a few bites of…[Read more]

hchina – you poor hon! Gosh can’t you catch a break? I feel so bad for you. Well hopefully all this is just making you stronger, and great job for being so determined to continue breastfeeding!!

LaIslaBonita – All of those dairy sensitivity/allergy symptoms you described are also the same symptoms of a foremilk/hindmilk imbalance. My daughter is now 11 and a half months, but when she was around 5 to 6 weeks, I had tried stopping dairy for a couple of weeks, tried zantac as one doctor thought she had silent GER, but the fussiness,…[Read more]

jepica – That could be a sign of thrush. You shouldn’t skip or even skimp on feedings with it as that can cause a clogged duct and affect your supply on that side. It could also be some other type of yeast infection. Or it could just be your breast refilling itself back up with milk. Or something entirely else. Either way, if it still continues…[Read more]

1Byfaith – I remember you! For your supply issues, I’m not sure if you’ve seen this but alot of the ladie say that fermented oatmeal works great. You let it sit out for like 6 hours or so. Anyway, that’s one way. Have you tried mother’s milk or fenugrek?

I’m wondering when any of you started your lo on solids? Mine is 3 and a half months and I know I need to start thinking about it. She is exclusively breastfed now and I plan on breastfeeding for at least a year…

Savannah was 8lbs 2oz at birth; at 2 months she was 16lbs 5oz; at 3 and a half months she was 20.5 lbs; at 6 months she was 24 lbs 7 oz; at 9 months she was 28 lbs and now at a year she is 32 lbs. Mega Super Chunk ;o)

sydneemay – Congrats on the pregnancy, that is so great!! May I ask you when you got your period back? I still have not and my daughter just turned 1 last week… We are really wanting to try for another one asap but that is obviously not in the cards anytime soon without af! Did your daughter stop nursing in the middle of the night? I only ask…[Read more]

Bri – Can I ask you how long your sister breastfed for? I plan on having Savannah self-wean so I do realize that it could be a long time before I ovulate again if my body decides to wait until Savvy weans :o/

  • katjak7 replied to the topic Breastfeeding in the forum Babies Forum 3 years, 4 months ago

It’s so funny, I will be fine and not thirsty at all, but then literally the second my daughter latches on I feel like I am in the desert and haven’t had a glass of water in days haha! Well thank God our body has such a trigger because that way we obviously get the impetus to keep ourselves nice and hydrated and keep that liquid gold flowing :o)

Wow Bri – 12 days and 11.5 lbs!! What a cute little chunky monkey haha! My daughter is one too at 6 months and 25 lbs (she was 8.2 at birth)… Last time I was at the ped she lectured me about her weight. I was like she is ebf and what am I supposed to do not feed her when she is hungry? Anyway, it’s so funny how these sweet little ones can grow…[Read more]

Bri – I think I didn’t say it clearly, we have been trying, we have not used any birth control since Savannah has been born. I just meant that it’s nearly futile since I haven’t gotten my period yet. I do know that one could ovulate and get pregnant before the return of their period, but the chances are still very low. Also, like I said, Savannah…[Read more]

Oh also I forgot to add that your breasts will decrease in size after a couple of months of nursing. So at least you will have your smaller bras from before or you can adjust the straps on the nursing bra to make it tighter…
