• Mochas, they tend to fill back up a touch when you’ve been done nursing for a while, mine were always deflated looking after my boys were over nursing. Mine were worse after my second but it was because I dropped a ton of weight. I figure as long as they look good in a bra be happy, my husband doesn’t care how deflated they were, he was just so…[Read more]

  • Jen, I just wanted to say both my older boys woke up every hour and a half for the first eighteen months of their lives!!!! I thought I was going to die, total zombie momma 🙂 But both once weaned slept through the night within a week or two and still do at ages 4 and 7. My mistake was giving them my boob as a pacifier since they co-slept I would…[Read more]

  • Brandy, as for the feedings I agree that you should be nursing, my son isn’t even 3 months and gets way more nursing than he will take from a bottle. Our hospital with my other son always had me nurse then offer a bottle of pumped milk to make sure they gained properly.

  • Horseygal, Griffin does that too and just turned 5 months. I’ve decided to just enjoy since I know he is my last baby and I will be so depressed when we are done nursing. He does stay latched long enough to eat but it’s like he stirs around and realizes his boob is not in his mouth and he wakes up. He definatly thinks I am his pacifier!

  • Laura I am just getting the hang of it now. I wouldn’t bother if your still using the sheild as you would need a 3rd arm! LOL I used sheilds for each of my kids first 3 weeks and then managed to wean them from that. But it is very complicated to get situated when using a shield, trying to keep covered and hold the baby all at one time. Your best…[Read more]

  • Why is it that people always try to discourage breastfeeding?! I think it makes them feel bad that they chose the easy way by just starting on formula. All of my kids have had to have formula at some point wether in the first days or 10 months but I have persevered and made it through. I wish they would keep their opinions on breastfeeding to themselves!

  • Horseygal, I get flack for that too, but they are only babies once and I’m not gonna let anyone tell me how to raise my baby. I did it with my other 2 and I am doing it with this one. As for the not telling people about breastfeeding after one, I am proud but I don’t feel like answering all the obnoxious questions, all my friends and family will…[Read more]

  • 1byfaith that used to happen to us all the time and by 2 or 3 months old Griffin adjusted and stopped choking on my milk 🙂 Kebler- if your not ready then don’t stop because it sounds like your little guy is still enjoying too. I nursed my first until 18 months and I stopped because I was just done with being touched! (it didn’t help that he was…[Read more]

Natasha do you have a Target or babies-r-us in canada? If not I’d even go as far as to call the hospital if they won’t sell you one they should know where to get one.

My Griffin is now 10 weeks old and loves to suck his hands from time to time when he is alert, anyone else’s baby turn into a thumb sucker after displaying this behavior?

How many of you are co-sleeping? I have co-slept with all of my children this one is my 3rd he is 2months old. I have also breastfed all of them, this guy is going strong and only gets a bottle of expressed milk on occasion. I’m just wondering if anyone else is terrified of sids this time around?? I don’t remember the anxiety about it with my…[Read more]
