There are different views about whether or not wake up a sleeping baby for food… My daughter was small when she was born, although not premature, and lost a lot by the time we left the hospital: the midwife told me to wake her up every 3 hours to feed, day and night. I used to put the alarm. In the same hospital, a friend of mine delivered a…[Read more]

on-number-2 – it’s too early for you to start pumping and preserving your milk as your milk supply hasn’t settled yet, it takes few weeks.
You’re doing great with lanoline cream for the sore nipple, that’s the remedy. If it’s really sore when your baby is nursing, you can use a breast shield for a day or two, so that your nipple will recover.…[Read more]

michelle, i know BF mums that already cut the night time feed, earlier than 6 months old, and what they do is to give a big big feed last thing at night and then give the baby the pacifier if he wakes up at night. For them is working. I personally don’t feel like cutting the night time feeds if my girl wakes up, even because i see that she really…[Read more]

northwave, pump every time your baby feeds, after each feed, so that you can express what he hasn’t eaten. you might need to apply a gentle pressure to the breast to squeeze all the drops out. Especially pump at night adnd early morning that is when your breast gets really full

Bri – Aurora didn’t get sick, actually she’s healthy and seems a very happy baby! that’s deceiving as i should keep an eye on the watch and remember to feed her every 3 hours or so, cause she even might be happy for 4 or 5 hours!

Girls, i suspect my baby is intolerant to lactose but i don’t know how to make sure.
my girl is 7 months and breastfed. She had some formula in the very first days of her life, waiting for my milk to come in, and she took it no problem.
In the last month i tried to give her formula twice, due to low milk supply, and she threw it all up…[Read more]

kerrienb, you’re getting only 1oz because your milk supply is not established yet, it takes about 6 weeks to establish your milk supply, and the mor your baby feeds the more milk you get. Pump after the feed, so you don’t deprive him of milk, and especially at night and early morning when your breast are at the fullest. You’ll get more milk in few…[Read more]
