I need a little advice…lately my son has been more distracted on my left breast, I don’t know if this is because the supply is lower on that side or if it’s getting lower because he pulls off so much…but along with that, the supply in my right breast seems to keep increasing. It used to just be more full than the left, but now it’s getting…[Read more]

Thanks for all your advice..I definitely think I’ll wait longer than the pediatrician suggested. I’d rather end up strapped to my baby than not be able to BF.

cosomomama – You’ve already gotten some feedback..but I usually only nurse on one side each session (and my 7 week old is 13lbs so he’s definitely getting enough)..it just took a little while, not long, and then my milk seemed to regulate itself because i usually don’t get too uncomfortable and he still gets enough.

excited41stbaby – My son (3 and a half weeks old) was only sleeping on our chests or in our arms too..as soon as we tried to put him in the bassinet he’d wake up and cry. I read that babies have a period of light sleep before they reach a sound sleep, so whatever you do to soothe them to sleep, you should continue to do for about 20 minutes until…[Read more]

When would you recommend introducing a bottle to a breastfed baby? My son will be 3 weeks old on Saturday. Nursing started out as a big challenge but he’s been gaining weight very well and we’ve gotten a lot better at it. Our pediatrician said we should introduce a bottle at 2 weeks and just give it a few times a week (I’m a stay at home mom and…[Read more]

Just wanted to jump on the Bri-is-awesome train. Your comments are always so thoughtful and helpful. I read the 3 month page even though my son isn’t quite there yet just so I don’t miss any of your pearls of wisdom 🙂 Thanks for taking the time to encourage so many ladies
