You have a higher chance than a regular woman of getting it a second time but not as likely to get it as you would being a first time pregnancy. I hope that makes sense! I had pre-eclampsia with my first as well (a severe case) so my doc made me high risk with my second pregnancy. If your blood pressure is already rising I would say you might have a good chance of getting it again. Good luck! pre-eclampsia sucks!
Well I have a bit of a different situation. I had kidney problems as a child and high bp before pregnancy so I was instantly high risk. All the symptoms I had from 17 weeks mirrored Pre-e and I was constantly admitted to hospital and then dis-charged. In the end I was 37 weeks and did develop pre-e. With my 2nd I was much more aware of my body and reading the signs. I took things slowly, relaxed, I bought a bp monitor and checked my bp every other day and it was ok for ages. You are at a higher risk because you have had it, but you are in a better position as you know what you need to look out for. With my 1st I had the whole mag sulphate and hated it, a horrific experience and with my 2nd I was 37 weeks and bp shot up, the midwife was like oh you haven’t pre-e yet so we will wait and I kicked off at her told her she WILL induce me now and I wont wait until I actually have got it. In the end my 2nd labour was a dream. Listen to your body and make sure you don’t stress too much…Everytime you feel like you are stressing just think…Is it really worth it? what’s more important the thing i am stressing about or my baby….Thats what I did and actually became a more laid back person on the way lol Sorry for the long reply xx
I hope not!! I had it with my first as well, gained so much weight from water gain, my ankles still have stretchmarks. I didn’t have it with my second, though…. have you tried sleeping/resting on your left side? Try to relax, believe me, I know how hard it is. Good luck, milady.
