well my waters had to be broken in hospital when i was in labour anyway and with my second they broke before then i went to hospital but i needed an emergency c section so i had him 20 mins after, when your waters break it speeds up the labour pretty fast although i have heard of some women whos waters break and they dont give birth till a few days after sort of depends really but usualy it does speed things up good luck hun xxxxxxxxx
with my 1st 2 they were broken during labor and both 1st and 2nd were born an hour after waters were broken. with my 3rd i didnt go into labor until 11 hrs after the waters broke..he was born 15 hours after waters broke and with my 4th the waters broke at 32+5wks and he was born 2 days later via emergency csec for fetal distress (waters were broken 2 days and did not go into labor)
My waters never broke with either pregnancy. Both times I got to 10 cm and my midwife broke my water. She had to hook in twice (I have very strong membranes!) to get the bag to release. With my first labour, meconium came pouring out. My son was breech so within about 45 min I gave birth via c/s. With my 2nd, I had a VBAC. My midwife broke my water when I was at 9.5 cm and I delivered about 3 hours later.
14 hrs for me too and I had a doc visit earlier that morning- only 1.5 cm dialated ( I was 40 wks and 2 days) and my doctor said it would probably be another week. At around 11 pm that night it broke and 12 hours later I had to be induced because within that time I only progressed to 3 cm. Still believe it was because the baby was posterior (sunny side up).
