I was lucky enough not to get any stretch marks when pregnant with my son two years ago. I am now 31 weeks pregnant with baby #2 and just got my first one:(. Otis right above my belly button and about 1.5 inches long, pretty wide, and it really hurts. I can feel it stretching more and more, and it continues to get worse. I have been using palmers cocoa butter religiously, and just started using bio oil twice a day. Is there anything else I can do to prevent it from getting worse or to help with the pain of it? Does bio oil really work for either prevention of it getting worse or to help it fade? TIA
Stretch marks are a well known problem that affects the thin layer of skin. The more elasticity in your skin, the less likely you are to get stretch marks. When you find out you’re pregnant or when you notice you’re gaining weight start giving your skin extra moisture. One can get more information here about the products to get rid of stretch marks.
dont know how to help you but i do feel your pain. mine were to the point of bleeding at the end. its weird tho cuz i was always really small, i guess i just dont have very elastic skin. i am curious tho, did you ever have a belly button peircing? that was my first stretch mark, right above my belly, and is my biggest one too
I also did not get any with my first, and got a few small ones with my second. The only thing I did differently was with my first I was slathering Eucerin on daily, and I didn’t do that with my second. Needless to say, I’ve been using it again with my third pregnancy. I’ve never had them the way you’re describing, so can’t say for sure whether this is a good “cure” or not, but I hope you do find something that works!
Have you gained more weight with this baby or maybe carrying differently? If the pregnancy is different then there is a chance that nothing will help prevent them. Moisturisers are supposed to help with the discomfort but even then there is a chance it wont help. Sorry I don’t have better news 🙁
