I remember being super thirsty during the first trimester, and I was told it’s totally normal as you need more water to form the amniotic fluid and build your blood volume. It tapered off during the second trimester, and now (at 34 weeks) I’m very thirsty again. I am a bit concerned that it’s a possible sign of GD, so I’ve been very careful about not eating the sweets. We should all be eating that way during pregnancy anyway, whether we’re diagnosed with GD or not. It’s best for us and baby. Easier said than done though! 🙂
I was always thirsty at night and I didn’t have GD or anything. I think its normal to be thirsty considering you pee all the time lol. I just kept a bottle of water next to my bed, so every time I got up to pee and I drink some water before falling back to sleep. Also its good to drink lots of water, especially in the last trimester. Dehydration can trigger contractions and preterm labor.
