just wanted to throw in daycares are not ‘banking’ $75 a week is what this is calculating for a 6 month old, my mom owns a daycare and actually had to get a 2nd job to pay her bills, after paying her employees and covering all the overhead (electricity, food, water, toys, the safety equipment required by law ect) she doesn’t even take home a paycheck. She throws all her heart and soul into providing a safe place for children even though she isnt making a dime.

AMK1984 – sorry if you took offense to my comment about the day cares but you say your mom charges $75 a week, i know just about every one in my town in OK cost $115 a week which is actually more than what the calculator is figuring, wow, normally stuff in OK is actually cheaper.

amandac – no offense taken, i just wanted to clarify lol. My mom charges about $115. The baby cost calculator figures $75 a week. I know its easy to overlook alot of the expense. You think they are just watching my kid why is it so much, but once you start to think of all the CPR certifications, and playground equipment and decent meals, also air conditioning in the summer and heat in the winter. It gets very pricey to run an actual daycare center. I hope you are able to find someone you can afford and someone who will take excellent care of your child/children!

AMK1984- yeah i love my day care, and like i said in my earlier post i’m indian so they pay for most of it, i only pay $80 a month which is great compared to $460 a month, honestly i feel for the people who don’t have assitance. Yeah i can see how it can be expensive, never really thought about utilities and stuff like that especially since right now i’m supplying everything cause my baby is only 4 months old (formula, diapers, wipes etc.) but i do know as they get older they actually feed them and provide activities for them.

OMG I think thats a bit over priced on here. I work at Wal-mart thankfully 10% discount will come in handy, I particularly work in the infants department quite often and know for a fact that this is a bit off.

I only got $353, because all my friends and family have chipped in for the expensive stuff that I’ve been given new, and I went garage-sale-ing and thrift store shopping and have an almost-complete complete wardrobe already!!! Also using re-usable nappies, however I think the costing on here is a lot less than what it actually will be. I have bought 20 mod cloth nappies already online, and that ALONE has cost over $353… not that I am complaining, still a HUGE saving anyway. I didn’t realise that I could be so cheap lol 🙂

Wow, so cheap, haha, only $843!!! for a year! nuh huh! though, that is using the cheapest stuff, personally im not going to use dollar store babywash, so thats gonna cost more, and the formula i used with my first was enfamil A+ so not the cheapest store brand. The cost for second had clothes is rediculously low on here, seriously a years worth of clothes for $50.. as if!!! more like a month’s worth! Thankfully i have a tonne of stuff from my daughter, but putting the baby into her crib, means having to buy a toddler bed and more.. I think this is not very accurate at all!
