deeyore486–I’m in Oregon; where are you?? I am so envious of those who can pump mass quantites. I already pump after 2 feeds, pump 4 times a day while at work and pump right before I go to bed — so about 7 times per day. I keep telling myself to pump in the middle of the night, but when 1 am comes around and baby has eaten; I just want to go back to bed!

Lawsons~ do you have a lactation consultant, or a place that you can go to help you? They’ll be able to really give you the low down. Bring Lawson with you and show them what is happening. They should have wonderful ideas for you! The tricks these women come up with is really cool! I have an AMAZING place 15mins from me and I don’t think I’d be breastfeeding if it weren’t fo them!

The other day whe n iwas saying how John wasn’t sleeping and when he did he’d wake screaming for a littel over a week. I had got no sleep. I was loosing my mind. I even put a pillow over my head becuase i just couldn’t deal with it and all DH would say was he’s hungry when I knew he wasn’t. I boughta box of rice cereal after a week of it thinking maybe I’ll give it a try. Everyone keeps saying they sleep better. I stared at the box all day and I couldn’t do it. lol I just couldn’t give him something to make him sleep because I was tired. I knew I would sleep again one day, I’d find out what was really bugging him. Well that night he slept like a champ only waking 3 times no scareming to eat. I was soooo happy I didn’t give in to that box and I’ve thrown it away! a big part of me doesn’t want to give him any food because I don’t want him to grow up! lol selfish I know!

Thought you ladies might enjoy this….As much as we watch to see what our children do with their lives, they are watching us to see what we do with ours. I can’t tell my children to reach for the sun. All I can do is reach for it, myself. ~Joyce Maynard

Leslie, you hit the nail on the head! You can build the supply but unless there is a demand your body won’t keep it.

illy2 – Feeding no, sleep kinda. Alex is fed on demand except now that we are doing meals as well he eats with the family. He drinks breastmilk whenever and where ever he wants. Sleep is a different matter. He was sleeping on demand but once he started putting himself into a routine I helped him along. He goes to bed at 8pm with Chris. He gets up when he wants though. He still takes three naps a day. Two smaller ones in the morning and evening but the middle nap is about 2 hours and is when Chris goes down for his nap. That’s my time! HAHA! I think he was around 3 months when that started to happen. Before that he may or may not sleep during that time. Works out great for us. Although today is weird. He’s cranky and wanted to nurse. He feel asleep at 11. Chris is having lunch right now and goes down at noon so I’m sure my break will be cut short today. He needed the sleep though. I didn’t want to keep him up if he was tired.

Lawson’s- that is just terrible. And i agree with someone else (can’t remember who) who said that it’s terrible that you’re used to being treated that way! Good for you being so confident, though. Everyone here is so proud of what you are doing for Lawson! Kudos.

Styx- We use a doctor over in Lakewood. because Im not from this area I googled 100 names on the list DH gave me. I found only 1 doctor that had any good info and great feedback . Her name is Michelle Harris. Her office is very laid back but in a good way!

Hello all – I have a question for you ladies. I have a 2 week old baby who falls fast asleep when feeding. Took her to the pediatrician yesterday and she only gained 2 oz in a week so now doc is making me pump however I can only get 2 oz with both breasts after she feeds. I am a very concerned because if she does not gain weight fast doc will make me supplement with formula and that is not something I would like to do as I solely want her to breastfeed. Any suggestions on how to increase my milk supply? Thanks!

Pinkish, have you tried breastmilk? I know that sounds weird but it has helped with so many things. There are natural products as well on the market for eczma.

oh and I was thinking on my way to work, if any first time visitors came on yesterday and asked a question and didn’t get an answer please ask it again. there are some very, very informative women on this site and it would be a shame if you got turned off to us from just one day.
