Ladies, the funniest thing happened today! I was in the check out line at Target holding Scarlett (5 months) when the lady behind me starts reaching for LO’s thighs. She asks me, ‘Do you nurse her?’ When I told her I did she said, ‘I thought so, only breastfed babies have those wonderful chunky thighs!’!! It was so funny. My daughter does look like the Michelin man too. lol

Lawson: most jarred food has lots of chemicals and preservatives in it. Also, the mixtures they make generally don’t taste all that great. If the ones she gave you have only veggies and water in the ingredients then I might keep a few in case of emergency. Also, keep in mind the preservatives used in the jarred baby food, that allows it to have such a long shelf life!

Ash: I would say let baby nurse for as long as he wants… It’s different than when it comes out of a bottle, because it doesn’t come as fast. Mine used to nurse for an hour and a half. Now she nurses for about 40 minutes all together, but your baby will either fall asleep or stop nursing when full. Nice progress!

Mileysmommy08 – That’s awesome!! Nice work Mama! You are doing great. Just think all her growth is because of you and your hard work. Keep it up!

1Byfaith – Definately ok! I got pregnant while breastfeeding. I talked to my OB and said ‘good! It’s healthy for both of you’ Unless you are high risk due to preterm labor then it shouldn’t be a problem. You can continue to feed your first all the way through pregnancy, birth and onto feeding both if you’d like.

military~mommy, I was offended by the prefold comments…they don’t work for a lot of people for the very reasons you suggested. I grew up putting them on my siblings, so I was already VERY familiar with them. Mom can change my boys faster and easier than my nieces and nephews in sposies! 🙂

i am wondering if i should try to express some milk before nursing because it seems to come out too quicly because i am soooo full maybe this is why she fusses and doesnt want to latch on sometimes

styx, I didn’t read most of the book either. I read the first little bit, grazed over most of it really. Then I focused more on what our issues were. I probably spent 30min with the book!

JessicaLynn–> Has he poo’d lately? My baby did that sort of thing (and still does) when her tummy hurts. we got that medicine Mylicon. It seems to help. She would wake up screaming like that. and it was so hard to soothe her! she wouldnt want to eat either. she would try but then push away screaming. but I would try to be persistant because I think eating even little by little helps push gas or poop out.

Hi everyone, i havent ever posted on here so this is my forst post, my little boy will be 6 months on the 3rd august and i always planned on stopping breastfeeding around about this time, he is already eating solids 3 times a day which in affect has made my supply alot lower as he doesn’t take asmuch now, i have had a hard time getting him to take a bottle but the last 2 weeks i have been giving him one bottle a day with his lunch and he tends to take betwween 3-5oz of formula along with his solids, is this enough as my friends baby takes a full 8 oz and a gut full of food aswell…. and liams 5lbs heavier than her..lol… has anyone got any tips on weaning them off breastfeeding slowly as i dont want to just stop as it’ll be a shock tom liam and my poor breasts will get so engorged… Any helpful tips will be very much appreciated!!! Thanks sarah xxx
