BUTTERFLY: It is an ‘old school’ thing to do. My Mom was telling me to do the samething when DJ was 3mons old. Like I said DJ did sleep a bit longer when with me. But how you feel about co-sleeping is a personal/family choice. I know we couldn’t ‘master’ the nursing while laying till DJ was about 3mons. After that it was super easy for those night feedings. I tell you, I’ve never had a sleepless nigh. Meaning trying to comfort a newborn to sleep. He’d just fall asleep nursing. But loads of luck girl, just remember, it will pass and get better!

god-iva: i’m actually pro-choice. I certainly don’t think that she was saying that everyone who has an abortion is picking and choosing their children, just this one particular woman. I personally think that everyone should be able to decide.

I’m always up early. I have to get up at 5:40 to go to work…yuck. Well actually I could get up around 6:15 or so but I allow for some ‘this house is so quite and I can sit here and do nothing’ time.

Bouza let her finish one breast, burp her, then offer the other. If she doesn’t want it, that’s fine too. She should be allowed to empty the first breast though, as the hind milk is the milk from a nearly empty breast, and the milk that gives her the most calories 🙂

Okay. So i have a pretty close friend at work and his girlfriend is pregnant. I’ve been talking to him about if she’s going to breastfeed for a while now. And she and him have decided that she will. So for their baby shower I gave them a boppy pillow and a homemade gift certificate that gives unlimited hours of advice and support from me. (Thought it was kind of cute, and more personal.) So anyway. We were talking about it today and he mentioned that they’re going to start cereal at 1 month!!! Because ‘her mother did it with all her kids’ and it makes them ‘feel full and sleep,’ and they want the baby to ‘have all the proper nutrition.’ I was like NOOOO! That is so bad for babies. You shouldn’t be giving solids until 6 months and that bm or formula is all a baby needs for 6 months on and on and on and on i went. But do you guys know of any articles or anything that is more concrete that i can give him? Because i can’t deal with the thought of that. It makes me so sad. They’re very young and this just seems like the stupidest thing. I want to educate them! (BTW, i know that some babies need cereal for reflux and other problems, but they’re doing this so that the baby will sleep.)

I saw a LC on Wed, talked thru my supply issues last time, told her my general doc found I was insulin resistant and blamed my birth control, which I agreed with and had the Implanon removed. She told me my gerneral doc may have had therigh tidea but she thinks I may have PCOS. We went thru some basic symptoms and now I am researching on my own and found this article. My 6 week follow up is next friday and I am going to request metformin… Just so weird to just now be figuring out what went wrong over 2 yrs ago, and the Midwife also sugested that my rapid weight gain is also due to PCOS and the metformin might help…. http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/206356/metformin_is_it_safe_for_breastfeeding.html?cat=25

Leslie, invite her in! HAHA! She’ll be too embarrassed to pull that sh** on you again! I would yell out the door….PUMPING! If she STILL can’t figure it out, just invite her in. HAHA! Either that or complain to your manager. They need to be respectful. If it’s just one person then she needs to be talked to. I guess I’m just blunt. I would be about to close my door and someone would ask some….busy…going to pump. Everyone knew what I was doing. . HAHA! You could hear it through the door.

Jessica- Zoey’s dad is the same way. A shower? Heck, I’m good to get him to chill with her long enough to pee. He’s getting a little better though. And on the days I have something to do (like twice in past few months) he’s amazing with her. He gets her to lay down by herself for a nap. Jealous! Lol. She just naturally is drawm to him which is good because he did nothing to help encourage the bond early on.

lawsonsmom- Yes I definately will. I am going to try the latch assist and see if that helps me any. I just ordered it because I have no stores around here that carry it.

(And ignore the typos. Like ‘feelins’. Lol. Yes, I’m from Tennessee. No, I don’t say feelins. Often.

jessica- um.. both? haha. I totally see where you were coming from with the posting it on facebook that you were insecure… that’s not very nice. But i don’t think he meant it that way, i think he was trying to tell everyone how beautiful you are and how lucky he is in public so that you’d appreciate it more? that’s what it seems like. But the initial thing, where he told them their women looked good might’ve been a little bit of an overreaction because he was just trying to be nice. But again, i see both sides. Like you’re definitely not unjustified.
