Thanks for the responses it helps knowing others were able to make it work. Mostly my little guy doesn’t open his mouth wide enuf, and sometimes he latches on with his tongue at the roof of his mouth. Funny I know. Ethans- Oliver needs to be woken up still and he is very sleepy and hard to wake most times, try changing your LO diaper and or taking of his clothes when he falls asleep.

I never go into dressing rooms. I find it easier to buy what size I think and then take it back if it doesn’t fit. When you have a toddler and an infant with you it just doesn’t work. HAHA!! Therefore, I plot down and nurse where ever I am. I love our malls because we play areas with seats around the whole thing. One way in and out too. Soooo, I can let Chris run and sit close to the exit just in case. HAHA! By the way, the other day when I was there I saw an awesome sight. A mom was tandem nursing her toddler and infant at the same time. She wasn’t using a cover nor did I see any boob. It was a pretty cool sight. Don’t know how she did it. It’s one thing to do it with only one but with two. Congrats to anyone doing that! I’m sure it would be even harder if they were both infants.

I didn’t have a section, with James. I did pass out through loss of blood needed two transfusions. Had been 50 hours from start of induction to being born. He was a whopper also 11lb 6 oz. He refused to feed for the first two days so I had to express and the midwife gave him the colostrum out of a syringe. They didn’t want me to do it as they wanted me to be associated with the breast. Two days later he finally latched on pretty much stayed there for a couple of days. When he was weighed on day 5 had only lost an oz! Ollie was on straight away.

Oh ladies! My heart is breaking for those little guys! I can’t believe someone would continue to give cereal in a bottle when they are obviously in pain. I hate stupid doctors! I hate stupid parents! Ugh! Don’t have children if you can’t raise them right! This includes seeing to their needs. Biologically they NEED to get up several times a night. When they are ready physcially they will sleep. Of course it all changes during growth spurts, teething, separation anxiety, etc.! Once you think you’ve got your child pinned they change it on you. HAHA! Alex is now sleeping. Well both are. Ahhhh! He has a little pin hole in his gums. The tooth will be here any day now. I think I’m going to go lay down for a while too. Got laundry done yesterday and I don’t care about dishes at the moment. HAHA! At least it’s Friday. Maybe my husband will let me sleep in tomorrow? We’ll see, probably not.

jepica19 – Just because you can’t pump well doesn’t mean you don’t provide well for your child. I have a friend that pumped for a year while she worked. She would only get an ounce or two from each pump. She did it. Got up at night to pump as well. I suggest trying some massage techniques to get more out. I’ll ask her to come back (she was part of this last time) and tell her story on how she was able to feed only breastmilk while she worked. Some women just can’t pump very much.

Thanks Laura, not something I really want to do. Actually, isn’t there a law about it? I believe that at least in WA they have to be rear facing until a year but I could be totally off my rocker on this one. HAHA! I’m going to hold out as long as possible but I don’t know if we’ll make a year, not at the rate he’s growing.

Peruana – Aaaah baby poop. 🙂 The cool thing about breast milk is that it’s so good for a baby that they absorb almost every bit of it. So it’s not so rare that your little one poops less often. Zoey is a once a weeker. Your little one HAS pooped before, right? My only concern would be that sometimes something can be malformed in there and a bowel movement be hard to get out because it’s blocked. But I think if your little one has before, that’s not really a concern. Most of the time they make them poo before leaving the hospital. If her doc isn’t concerned, that’s a good sign. Most newborns poop pretty often but….well… all babies are different! Zoey at 4 months quit pooping except once a week. Sometimes ten days. Sounds like you’re doing wonderfully. Hang in there. The tears get replaced by laughter soooo very soon. Like Zoey now nurses on her side with a leg straight up in the air. And moans while nursing. And tries to chew on her fingers and nurse at the same time. Aaaaaah. It really is great.

emilee~ How awful that your family doesn’t support you BFing in the home. My mother is staying with me right now helping while we get ready to move in 2.5 weeks. She BF my brother and I and truely enjoys the fact that I BF, she supports and encourages me in every way, when my dad was here no one said boo to me about covering up, I don’t use a blanket in my own home and they respect that. I also grew up in a home where nudity wasn’t flaunted but we only had one bathroom and accidently walking in on someone getting out of the shower wasn’t uncommon, lol, in my family we were raised that nudity is not necessarily sexual so no issues BFing in front of my dad.

deeyore- congratulations! i thought we had a huge freezer supply, but since she doesn’t nurse except at night and only wants her cup, we went throught it pretty fast. But it’s nice to know that the pressure is off, right? No worries now. Good job!

YAY Maddie! You did it. HAHA! I know it’s frustrating but once you do it, it’s easy. Anyways, she’s adorable.
