SarahJane-Same thing here. I give him something to hold in his hand…a soft teething blanket, a small toy, and that sometimes helps to keep him occupied not to squeeze and pull me.

How many times a day do your babies nurse/ eat. Mine is eating 6 times a day. She nurses 3 of those times and gets bottles at the baby sitter the other 3 times. Lately on her 4th feed at about 3:30- 4pm she is still hungry after a 5 oz bottle & the babysitter has to fix her 2 more oz of formula. Do you all think this means its time for her to start solids? I am just afraid she will not want to nurse at 6:30 when we get home if she eats solids at 3:30- 4 on top on milk. She is 5 mo 1 week.

Yup, old fashion quaker oats or whatever brand you buy. It tastes just like oatmeal but thick and chewy! Until I found thte OJ shot it would take me forever to get the whole bowl down.

Formula is nasty smelling and tasting. Gross! Breastmilk is sweet, tastes like sugary cow’s milk, a bit. Much better tasting.

You can take it for short periods of time to increase supply ( 10 days) and wean slowly back and your supply should stay up. This worked for me for a short time but i had extended retention of placenta ( 6 weeks post partum) which caused my milk supply to be almost non existant so i took it all the time to make sure i had supply. I got scared that it would go again so i didnt try and reduce the dosage. It is safe to take long term. In Australia it costs $28.10 for 175 tablets.

hi ladies, I am not on here very often but I need some feedback… My LO is 8 1/2 mo old and I have been EBF him plus now solids but now I can’t get him to sit still longer than 5 mins around 3 times during the day. He will nurse well to go to bed at night and well one time in the middle of the night. but of course I am worried he is not getting enough. and now of course, I am having less milk. I didn’t have this issue with the other 2. and I am a SAHM this time also. anyone else having the same issue?

Littlerainb- no its not okay to warm in a pan always thaw under warm water. Give her information…printed information about how she is killing the nutrients in your milk. My father in law microwaved my milk and thankfully my son refused to take it causing him totake him to my work to nurse and when I found out what he had done I arranged for someone else to watch. Course my FIL thinks he knows everything about children when he abandoned his own and when I would show information he would brush it off so..it was the last straw. He is not allowed to be alone with my children anymore…sorry ranting.

so far i’ve never been barged in on while pumping….the walls are so thin at my office building that you can hear the pump going outside the door…..

mountainmama thats awesome that you’re getting more relief I hope that happens to me. I’d much rather not go back on BC for babys sake but its all I’ve know since I was 15. maybe if I hold off and see how the first period goes….except I have no idea when that could be :).

Am I the only one who’s really not pumping at all? I was the first month but it would take me about 24hrs to get one 4-5oz bottle. I really need a bigger freezer supply though but I quit pumping and just fed LO on demand and we don’t do nighttime feedings unless she wakes up. She seems happy and is definitely growing.

missmojo – my EBF son started sleeping about 5 hours through the night at 2 weeks, 6 or 7at 3 weeks & now at 11 weeks he sleeps 8-10. I don’t think formula makes a difference – I think it depends on the baby. My friends have formula babies that don’t sleep through the night. Giving formula might effect your supply too? Just a thought!

I’ve fed LO in a stock room at Picture People when he was twelve days old b/c they didn’t want me to feed in the waiting area, and I’ve fed in the Koh’s bathroom (gross!) b/c I didn’t want to feed in the customer service area, and I don’t know if they would have let me anyway. I’ve also fed him in he back of the van once. We don’t do well, though, when I’m not at home with the couch and the boppy. I can’t even feed him in bed. I have to be on the couch, or it just doesn’t work. How the heck do you girls walk and feed or sit anywhere that doesn’t have amrs?! They only showed two holds in the hospital – the reverse cradle, and the football, so that’s all I know, and they just don’t work anywhere but the couch.
