I get that sick feeling during letdown as well. I never knew what it was.Sometimes it’s worse than others noticeably if I’m engorged and its a big letdown. It feels like when you get nervous stomach. I figured Ive been slightly battling ppd. I NEVER get that relief happy feeling during nursing. I mostly feel gross during nursing if that makes any sense at all. like my skin is prickly even… I don’t know it’s hard to explain. Glad I’m not the only one and it hasn’t deterred me at all from ebf. I didnt know it some type of actually thing that was happening…very interesting.

bunny-I’m afraid you’re not going to get encouragement to stop nursing here. We like to encourage nursing. At 6-8 weeks there is a big growth spurt and then after that typically the nursing starts to slow down a bit. I encourage you to at least tough it out until 3 months. That’s about the time it started to get super easy and enjoyable for me. As for the older child. I’m not much help b/c I only have my one year old, but I’ve heard several second time moms say they use a toy/nursing basket. A few toys that can only be played with during nursing. Gives them something new to play with when you are nursing so they can entertain themselves. Also, if you don’t use the tv much, I’ve heard a few moms say that works too b/c it becomes a special privilege during nursing time too.

casen- when ella was little and we would nurse laying down i would just pick her up and put her sitting up on my belly and burp her and then lay her back down and she’d just go back to sleep.

God-iva- I couldnt even finish reading that lol I mean of course you can find negative on the internet but for her to EVEN IMPLY that bm is not the best for a baby is so moronic its just laughable….Jep-Everyone has said it all and they are right lol at first its tough but it does get better…The best advice these ladies EVER told me was to throw the clock away! Just let that baby suck and suck they will fall asleep on that boobie you go to take it out and they will suck some more lol I saw Joes cousins baby who was born in feb and he is a total SUPER CHUNK lol 19.4 on monday all I did was look at her and said boobie baby she started crackin up and was like yep! I love it

Lilmam: it gets easier as you get used to the diaper. It took me a while at first as well, but now it’s cake. I’m excited, because I have a TON of fuzzi bunz on the way… 20, plus wipes, spray, wet bags, pail liners, the whole lot! 🙂 So eager. Last night we got Levi’s high chair. It’s the chicco 360 miro, and I love it. I can’t wait until she’s ready to start sitting in it and eating!

Zoey and I love our sleep! She’s an amazing dark-room-latcher… so neither of us wakes up! She had some avacado for the first time tonight. Loved sucking on it! Didn’t like the idea of having to chew. lol. Love her!

Bey – I got a few washable ones when I purchased a cover and then my MIL made me tons more. I’d stay away from any of the ‘leak-proof’ kind as I hear they do not allow for air circulation which can lead to infections. The kind I used were 100% cotton. I would throw them in a little woolite bag and wash them with my bub’s laundry.

Glad you got moved in. We’re doing good here. I call mine nugget (as in gold nugget) most of the time or turkey butt when he is being naughty, or douf (as in doufus) when he is being silly. I’m sure there are more. My ped asked me at some point if he knew his name. I asked which one since I rarely use the one on his birth certificate. As far as the man handling goes if you don’t like it you have to correct it. I always remove Isaac’s hands and tell him it hurts mommy. He’s just now at 14 months starting to understand. I know you said he throws a fit, Isaac is the worst for fit throwing. I swear we started terrible twos at 6 months. I try to ignore it mostly but if it’s me he wants, i tell him to come to me and i comfort him. He hates being told no or redirect. Both guarantee a fit everytime.

deeyore- Congrats. Does Zach do well with cow’s milk or goat’s milk? I ask because Chris didn’t. He’d get a horrible tummy ache if he drank more then an ounce or two. Sooo, I continued to pump until 15 months when I quit working. I thought I would have stopped at a year but didn’t. HAHA! I didn’t want my supply to drop even though I was at work. I know I’m weird. Congrats! Pumping is horrible.

For let down while pumping…I never had the problem…however, you can also try having a picture of your baby to look at, a recording of their coos or cries maybe and also try warm compresses on your breasts above the nipples while you are pumping. This should work hopefully in comparison to being in a warm shower and having a let down from the warm water. I used to look like a sprinkler. Used to make me mad I was wasting milk. LOL!
