so.in.love don’t give up! You are doing the best for your baby and good on you, but also don’t beat yourself up too much if your supply stays low. Some people have lots, and some not. These days at least we have lots of options! 🙂 I had twins and didn’t have enough milk. They gave me domperidone tablets to boost my supply and I pumped after every feed, etc to fool my boobies into thinking they needed to supply more milk, I even drank special concoctions, etc to improve supply. At the end of the day it all helped a bit but I still didn’t have enough milk. I was a bit devastated for an hour or two and then decided that some was better than none so breast fed my boys for the next 10 months with top ups of formula after every feed. (after 10 months they got too big for the feeding pillow, were thumping each other during a feed, and were starting to bite… enough’s enough I said!) You have never seen such fat happy healthy babies!! It is a decision you have to make for yourself and no one else can tell you what to do. I felt comfortable with my decision and managed ok with the boys and it was do-able and worked for us. I wish you lots of luck and hope you just hang on in there! Well done you for having a go! 🙂

Help! I’m 11 weeks pregnant and nursing a 1-year-old. I’ve lost 10 lbs so far and am very concerned! My little man loves the BB and has never had a bottle. My husband is very anti-dairy. I have no idea where or what to start with, any suggestions?

Bri – Aurora didn’t get sick, actually she’s healthy and seems a very happy baby! that’s deceiving as i should keep an eye on the watch and remember to feed her every 3 hours or so, cause she even might be happy for 4 or 5 hours!

gladek- As long as there are the suggested wet diapers it is fine. A lot of babies choose to do that and don’t mind waiting for mommy.

Hi ladies – just wanted to share my funny story. Last night DH and Breanne fell asleep in the living room. This morning he came out of the bathroom after his shower to show me his HICKEY! HA – Little tiny baby sized hickey on his chest ~ Wonder how long she was sucking before she got mad that no milk was coming! (I totally had to take a pic for the baby book)

angie, I use one attachement a day at work and keep it in a cooler all day to keep it ‘safe.’ then I come home and wash it. That seems to be working well for me. I store it in a cooler with my ‘milk bottles.’

chrissy-511 I would suggest that you constantly keep offering the breast. That will stimulate more milk production. Your lo could just be doing it for comfort as well. Sometimes I feel like my son is bf’ing 24-7 but I let him cause they go thru growth spurts and during the growth spurt you are building your supply with all the nursing. Hang in there!!

Aidensmommy – I agree, it’s probably teething pain. I lucked out, my daughter never did that, she nursed more right before she cut her first teeth, but I know a lot of moms who have experienced that, or worse, biting right before they cut a tooth.

I have a question for you ladies. My daughter is 6 months old. She used sleep fairly well. She still does, technically, but the timing somehow got thrown off. This week she’s started to refuse naps, or falls asleep so lightly that when I go to put her in her crib after she falls asleep nursing, she wakes up shortly after. This never used to bother me, except that this week she’s started falling asleep at 6pm and waking up wanting to play at 4am! I’ve tried everything I can think of to get her to stay asleep when she falls asleep during the day and nothing is working. Any suggestions?

I bf my son for the first 6 months. After 6 weeks I bought a medela harmony hand pump and never managed to get on with it. I tried buying different size shields etc and failed on every level. I am now in the early stages of my next pregnancy and am keen to bf again. I was wondering if there is a difference in the hand held pumps to the electric ones In terms of encouraging let down and getting a better flow. I didnt buy an electric one with Oscar as at the time funds were limited. I really dont want to buy a more expensive pump only to find the damn thing is basically redundant. Any thoughts anyone? Thanks in advance!

ozbaby – It is normal, especially with teething. Kekoa’s poo was adult like for a couple of months and then went back to mushy. It hasn’t gone back to seedy in a very long time but he is almost 16mnths as well…

Hey guys.. I need some advise quick… I had to take tablets to stop my milk supply because of a mastitis scare (don’t understand my doctor’s methods here).. I took them last week Wednesday and Thursday and my bb’s hurt like hell for a few days.. but last night I noticed that I am leaking milk from both my breasts.. I never wanted to stop nursing Julie-Anne and when I started working I thought that I could still keep her on the breat at night and in the morning.. can I let her feed seeing as there is milk or has my milk been contaminated by the tablets I took? Pls reply to my page if you don’t mind!! Thanks! xxx

kebler98 – You can get Goat’s Rue from Motherlove.com. I think it was around $24 for a bottle of 60 capsules.
