styx – It could be the fenugreek. I know that it can cause gas in babies but nothing that’s actually harmful.

expecting- i agree! some people can’t nurse. I know that a lot of women come up with excuses to not nurse and with my first i felt that all their excuses were just that because he was so easy. he had a perfect latch from day one never had any nipple confusion he loved breastfeeding… so i went on to successfully nurse him for 2 years but my daughter is a whole another story. We have had latch problems , hindmilk/foremilk imbalance she also has severe reflux and horrible digestive problems. She had also only gained a pound from her birth weight at 8 weeks. she was almost failure to thrive….I kept at it because i really feel the need to breastfeed but not a lot of people would have. What would I have done at that point? what if she never caught on? would i let her die because she refused my breast milk? come on… I told her over and over again you’re so lucky to have me as a mom cause most women would have given up by now. Most women listen when their pediatricians tell them to formula feed because the baby isn’t getting what is needed from mothers milk. A lot of women are devastated by that news. should those babies go hungry? there is always 2 sides of everything that should be looked at.

wow, my husband doesn’t do anything… won’t give him baths, or bottles (not that he would normally need a bottle anyway), doesn’t read to him, will only play with him for about 5 minutes at a time, and then passes him back to me. It’s so frustrating, I can’t even get dinner cooked, or have a shower before he comes asking me to take the baby. Literally, he’ll come into the bathroom 5 minutes after I get in the shower and ask if I’m done yet! On another note… Our one year anniversary is next week, and we’ve been offered a free night’s stay at a B&B. Only catch is, we’re supposed to leave the baby behind! So I gave the baby a bottle of EBM today, to see if he would take it, since he’s only had a bottle twice, and that was 2 months ago. He took it like a champ, which kind of disappointed me a bit, seems he doesn’t care if he gets bottle or breast, as long as he’s fed! lol I still don’t know if I can leave him the whole night though, and my MIL is the one who’s supposed to be taking him. She suggested that she watch him till around 11, then meet with us to give him back to us for the night, and then again in the morning so we can have the morning to ourselves. On the one hand, it seems like a hassle to have to meet her twice, on the other, I’m really not to confident that he could go the whole night without me. DH wants me to suck it up and leave him, but I don’t know if I can do it. My marriage is in such trouble though, I’m afraid if I don’t, I may be getting a divorce in the next couple of months… he wants this night to help us fix things… I dont even know if that’s possible at this point though!

so many comments on BLW! very exciting! Clementine is only 4 months old so we have a little while but I’m so excited to try it out. We have a family dinner every night and she is a part of it so she is very interested in food trying to grab it off my plate and shove it in her mouth. I keep telling her ‘not yet’! It’s so cute. Glad others with older babies are doing it so someone can answer my questions.

Hmm, I’ve never heard about the head growing too fast until now. My dd had a Dr appointment yesterday, and she went from the 25th percentile in head size a month ago to the 90th percentile. The Dr didn’t say that there was anything wrong with that at all, but now that I’ve read it can be a problem, I wonder. She also moved from the 25th in weight to the 50th, so she’s average there. I just hope the head size thing isn’t an issue. Too many things to worry about! She is good at holding up her head now at 8 weeks. I don’t have to support it anymore unless she is sleepy.

I don’t it’s bad for older kids to get to watch for a little while but not all day. When it’s a crapy day outside then maybe we’ll do more tv then normal. I’m trying to do more arts and crafts with Chris rather then have the tv on. HAHA!

bri, great article! im interested to know if alex slept better when he ate fish last night (cause of the omega3), a friend of mine is having trouble with her daughter being a horrible sleeper and shes tried everyything..so figured maybe she should try upping her fish in take?? i hadnt realized how us eating trans fats can affect their brains, im gonna have to go through our fridge/pantry and see if we need to get rid of anything.

HAHA! I’m glad it’s not just me! I mean, it’s kind of exciting to watch his reaction to new things when I give him tastes, but I just wish he could stay little forever! And there’s something about knowing that up until now all the nourishment that’s turned him into this wonderful, healthy baby, has all come from me! I’ll be sad to lose that. Oh well, 10 days until he turns 6 months, and I’m not starting a day before that! LOL. Seuban – his 4 year old daughter still needs her bottom wiped? Damion’s 9 now, but I’m pretty sure he was wiping himself before that, perhaps it’s time she learned… unless you don’t mind of course! But I find if you’re worried she wouldn’t do it quite right, you can always provide some wipes for her to use, and a bath at the end of the day works wonders. Also, just wondering, you don’t have to answer if you don’t want, but did Zoey’s dad ever clear things up with the twins mom about you two?

aww okay. i haven’t decided what to get yet. i keep thinking we’ll get one that immediately faces foward and then converts to a booster, but then i feel of them and the convertibles seem better padded.

NO WAY!!!! Yes I am! 🙂 Although I’m not sure how proud I am to admit it. Lol. Did your grandpa teach at the highschool here? Seriously small world! ***Also, I sent a request with the help of a few girls sending me the link (thanks again), and it didn’t give me an option to put in my name. POOHS~ My 1st DD had that problem and I had to keep trying to find a pacifier that she liked. We finally found one (after trying about 15 different kinds) and never had the problem again. Maybe keep introducing her to different ones would help.

Jennie- its all about supply and demand since your not having the demand the supply will even its self out. Your Lo is going to hit a.growth spurt at 2 months so it might not stay this way at night but enjoy it and don’t pump unless you are tryin to build a freezer supply
