letty005 -my baby is 5 months and i still use Nipple Sheilds so that he will be able to breast feed. He just never really got the hang of it. I would suggest those for when your at home pumping is different from BF and you will have a better chance of building up your milk if he is atleast latching on a few times a day.

My mam says it was always as if I was half awake when I was having one.

Happy Monday to everyone…except me 🙁 Justin is still waking up every 45 mins now. All weekend he would spontaneously burst into tears during the day. At night he grunts, squirms, archs his back and cries. This especially happens when he is lying flat on his back in his crib. He does the same even if i take him into bed with me. If i put him in his swing he will sleep for about 3 hrs. It sounds like he is always trying to push a poo. His poops and pees are normal and he has been spitting up a little extra lately. What could possibly be making him sooo uncomfortable? I cannot see any teeth coming yet so i doubt it is teething. Could his spine be out of line or his muscles sore? My instincts are telling me something is wrong. My dr is full today, do you think I should take him to the hospital? They will probably laugh at me and think i am a crazy mom. Everyday it just seems to get worse and worse. it has been going on for about 6 weeks now. i am scared 🙁

I can say for those wondering if low supply is from your period. YES YES YES… I’ve been an unlucky one who’s had her period back since my son was 2 months old. Every month aunt flo comes around my supply dips big time. I have just enough for him but the little extra that I’m able to normally pump during his 2 naps goes buh bye. Then comes about after shes gone.

I hear ya Bri, although I wouldn’t say it’s a NW thing. You wouldn’t believe the things that were said to/about me and my baby when I found out I was pregnant. My MIL called Levi a ‘bastard welfare brat’ and told me I’d be better off ‘getting rid of it’ because I didn’t know how to be a good mom. This same lady also crashed my wedding a couple of weeks ago, and the day after has the audacity to write me a letter about how much she dislikes me… all from a nw’er…

Hi ladies! My baby is 12 days old and yesterday and today has been so fussy!! I think she is gassy, and even though she has had several poopy diapers, it seems like she is constipated, like the poop is a real struggle to get out. She is ebf. Could something I’m eating or taking be causing this??? I’m taking motrin and stool softners (but have been since her birth, c-section) please help!!!

So I’m wondering. Why on the 7 month page does everyone think I am going to be the first pregnant again? I know what three and have said that I will next August but not now. And, since I’ve now gotten my period back I won’t be having sex without protection anymore. Not that we were that active in the first place. It just seems odd to me. I’m an educated and senseable person. I know what I can handle and three this close together we be plans for disasters! HAHA! I just don’t get it. There is nothing wrong with having them this close, it’s just that I know what I personally can handle. I know that I am worn thin as it is. I’ll need Chris older and listening to me more before that happens. HAHA! Just something that has been on my mind lately.

shell-on-earth – my lo is the same, she prefers the left side. mine doesn’t like the right side because i think it has more and she can’t handle the letdown. she screams. and will pull out and just cry. she’ll only stop and eat right if i give the left side. and it’s hard to force her i mean really frustrating sometimes the other boob is a lot bigger than the other. there were times i want to cry. what i always do is give her the side she prefers then switch to the other side. doesn’t work all the time though but when she’s really hungry she doesn’t care anymore. or give the right side when your baby is sleepy.

Jennie-it needs to be the same temp-so if you have some in the fridge..put your freshly pumped in the fridge and then transfer over a couple hours later once they have reached the same temp…Its also good 4-5 days in the back of the fridge…and 6 months back of freezer and i think a year in a deep freezer…ladies-if i’m wrong please correct me!

Mayy, check out this link. It gives 101 reasons to breastfeed. There really aren’t any disadvantages in my opinion. We were made to feed our babies by breast and that’s why there are sooo many advanatages to it. It’s human nature. Yes, it is hard for some. I had a rough time with my first and dealt with my son being tongue tied with my second. But we got through it. Anyways check this out…..http://www.promom.org/101/

Erica – it sounds like everything you’re doing is great! If your LO is gaining weight and as long as you’re feeding on demand, throw out the clocks and enjoy your efficient nurser. That sounds like a great weight gain for just 2 weeks!

Alyssa the beginning is the hardest…but as long as your milk came in and you are feeding on demand, then she will gain weight, my first lost almost a pound when we left the hospital, but steadily gained weight from then on. Just feed her when she is hungry, when, in the beginning, could be as soon as 45 minutes!! You’re doing great!

laurae2001 – I’m with the others. I’m confused on why you would have to stop breastfeeding immediately? I breastfed my first throughout my pregnancy with my second. There was no problem with supply when the next came along. Your body will produce enough for both babies. Also, many babies will self wean during your second trimester because the milk taste changes and because supply drops. But, you should be able continue to feed throughout your pregnancy if your baby wants and of course if you haven’t had pre-term labor. I do let my boys self-wean though. It’s healthier for our emotional health. HAHA! But, if you do decide to wean then I’d do so one feeding at a time. Take a couple of months to do so. You and your baby will be much happier that way. Cold-turkey weaning can cause depression in moms and unless the baby is ready to give it up aren’t happy either. The depression is caused by the sudden drop of hormones. One feeding at a time if the best way to wean.

Yes 26th of march…it has started to disapear again..which is great..butI am having huge breast feeding issues.my milk is disapearing even though he is attached to me 24/7..I am so disapointed…The Doc thinks he isn’t sucking hard enough..due to the fact that he has an overbite..I am pumping and in one breast I can only get an ounce after 15 minutes on the second I can get about two…this went down from 2 and 4 since I brought him home…today I can not get hardly anything and he is not swalloing while nursing..I am a pacifer for him not milk…I am a bit sad by this I had to resort to a bottle today just to stop the serious hunger cry comming from him…I have tried everything..pumping after he feeds…increase water…increased my food intake…and still my milk is disapearing…Wheres a wet nurse when ya need her…lol 🙂
