I produced breastmilk fro triplets for the first 3 months then it slowly started to go away and I had no milk to pump by 5 months. I am so happy I saved all that frozen milk and could ‘breastfeed’ her 2-3 more months even though I was producing no milk 🙂 so save it !

i just got home i went and picked up some fenugreek im so excited i hope this works, has anyone else had any luck with it? how long does it take to see results? Malted milk hasnt done anything for me yet. they also recommended mothers milk tea and i looked for that too near the natural foods section where i found the fenugreek but didnt find it, which works best?

lol campimama! natesmomma, non-alcoholic beer is fine with Reglan. It’s the alcohol that you have to avoid. And yeah, malted milk is yummy; I put it in skim milk. It’s close to the Nesquik and Milo in the supermarket.

mylittleman, sounds like your baby just isnt used to your let down yet. give it some time and keep nursing as often as the baby wants and he will get used to it as he gets bigger and your milk supply levels off a bit.

does anyone have any tips on how to get my LO to go longer between feeds? she will be 7 months on the 8th and still nurses constantly. i’ve never seen a baby that can eat so much!! she eats 2 large jars of baby food 3x a day plus nurses at least 10x. its great for my supply but i can’t get anything done! also, i have an abcess on my areola & have to have it removed next week. my dr said its fine to breastfeed & pump afterwards but how am i supposed to do that with stitches on my areola?!

sking-i think i have the same proble. My bubs is 5 weeks old and since th ebeginning i have had big probs bf. first it took more than a week to get anything from my breast , so he was bottle and little bm to begin. Then he had trouble latching on and finally when he did it hurt sooo much. ive been told i had thrush which wasnt the case, and now i really believe its vasospasm bc of the symptoms. anyway i have recently tried the nipplle shield which has been good, and i can bare the pain. have you tried this? i feel your frustration, when i got mastitis and a bad fever of 40 degree i almost gave up th ebf, but the nipple shield has saved me and warm showers….

1ByFaith – My LO has always spit up a lot, from breast and bottle. I remember getting so frustrated coz it seemed like he would spit up everything and I was having such a hard time breastfeeding. He did gain weight slowly, I’m not sure if that had anything to do with it but he’s now five months and his Dr. is happy with his weight and says he’s very healthy. So no worries, some babies just spit up a lot!

ash-you are fine. You were probably fine by mid-morn. Alcohol metabolizes out of your milk the same as your blood. Hope you had a goods time 🙂 Only thing I would watch for is a dip in supply. Alcohol dehydrates you which is counter productive to milk production. Just be prepared if it happens. Just keep feeding and your supply will catch back up.

emmalouliz – You really don’t have to explain yourself to others anyway…especially when it comes to parenting your child. But BF for a year is great and not weird at all…a woman that was in my childbirth class was still BF her 4 year old, and she didn’t plan to stop once her new baby came. I’m sure that alot of people think that’s weird, but no one in the class said anything about it. Prob only your close friends or family members will ask you about it, and I just feel like if you don’t want to explain then you can just say that it is what is best for your child and family. (I might be rude in my explanation to my family) and just not explain at all or make any further comments about it. None of anyone else’s busines…ya know?

yukstar – your supply decrease is all due to hormones released during your pregnancy. Some babies chose to wean
