JessieDee – Yes, MMT is mother’s milk tea. You want to eat at least a cup a day. I used to eat a half cup in the morning and half cup in the afternoon. I like ice cream in mine. Mix the same parts oats and water….make sure it’s old fashion oats. It can be the store brand as long as it’s old fashion. Mix them together and let it sit uncovered for at least 7 hours. When I was doing it I would make one batch as I was eating the next so I always had oatmeal on my counter. HAHA! Heat in the microwave, 45second is usually enough. Add your flavor and eat. I saw a difference over a weekend. I didn’t pump on weekends so it could have been sooner. HAHA! Leslie saw a difference in one day. Most ladies will double their pumping output. Much cheaper and easier then some other methods. It tastes just like normal oatmeal just a little thicker and slimier. I know sounds tasty. HAHA! It really isn’t that bad.

My 2.5yr old still doesn’t sleep through the night, and that is taking into account that ‘sleeping though the night’ for an infant is 6hours! He can usually go 4hours before waking up the first time, but still not through the night!

momofcash, np, just wanted you to know you are not alone 🙂 Maddux, it shouldn’t matter how many boobs you are using. My friend is feeding twins, so each boob needs to produce enough to feed one baby on its own, and she doesn’t have a problem with that. It’s all supply and demand. And from what Deeyore always says, the amount of milk you need never changes, the nutritional content changes instead. So baby needs 1-1.5 oz per hour now, and in 3 months, will still need 1-1.5 oz per hour. The hard part is that a pump is not as efficient as getting milk out of the breast as a baby is. So when you need to pump more because you are not feeding less, you could experience supply issues, because the pump isn’t as good. But there’s a ton of herbal remedies you can take if that should happen to you 🙂

There is no problem with swaddling. My boys hated it so we never did it. Most babies will start to break free from it when they are ready to sleep without it. There are some that have issues going to sleep without it but like the pacifier or bed-sharing they will develop enough to sleep without it.

Popping on and off, sometimes it is because they are frustrated at the delay in letdown, especially when they are used to getting it quickly. Could be gas as well. Also, in public, I found Alex doesn’t like to nurse in public UNLESS he has his blanket. He’ll clutch his blanket and I use part of it to hide my tummy. I don’t cover his head. For cereal, I think a lot of is that we breastfeeders tend to be a little more natural. It’s nothing wrong with formula feeders but I know for me and my friends we are more organic. I don’t give my child chemicals that aren’t needed and food that isn’t needed. You won’t find me feeding my babies fast food and such. My boys don’t get any store bought baby food which includes cereal. They get iron and such from organic grassfed meats that I buy. We (my friends and I) also do a lot of research on the topic of babies. We belong to support groups and gather as much information out there. We know that it is bad to give food before six months. We know that the risks aren’t worth it since none of our babies have had reflux. It’s hard to not say anything but we can’t save the whole world. HAHA!

Yeah, I need to hear the DL on this oatmeal as well. I EP’ed for 5 months with my son and I was a Dairy Queen (granted I was a SAHM with him, pumping much easier) my freezer was full with an extra stash, with this LO its like I have a totaly different set of boobs. Not making as much and my ‘producer’ boob switched from my left side to my right side…???

I donated my hair when Alex was 2 months old. I did when my hair started falling out with Chris too. I don’t cut my hair often so I would rather donate it then let it go down the drain. At least it’s going to a good cause. Locks of Love is a great foundation. HAHA!

deeyore486 – That’s funny, a lesser man would have been asking for paternity testing. HAHA! They are cute.

My lo has been sleeping through the night since 2.5 months, occasionally waking for a quick night feed. She is now 5 months and has started waking twice during the night. I know this may sound ‘normal’ for many of you. But it makes me wonder whether I should start introducing solids already – I know 6 months is the recommended time though. Thoughts please ladies!

I’d hate to pump in a dirty bathroom..just hoping it will get me out of doing duty..anyone else use this as an excuse?? answer on my site..i dont get on here very often…………………….good luck to everyone in their breasfeeding experience. I’m still pumping and son just turned 2!!! I keep at it because he has NEVER GOTTEN SICK!!! I know its because of giving him my immunity through breast milk. Keep at it and you will see for yourself how healthy your little on will be:)
