cluster feeds have started for the evening. Only managed to express 4 oz. Knew it was because i hadn’t drank enough fluids today. Health visitor has been out to check on jaundice, would help if it was same person coming out not a different one each time. She is coming next fri and if he still has it he’ll have to go for a blood test :(.

Balsamfir – My sister had that problem. Went through sooo many types it was crazy. Ended up with the platex drop ins of all things. I haven’t tried a bottle with Alex but he seems to be doing great with a sippy and today I did let him taste my water. He’s 5 months and drank from my glass just fine.

Balsamfir – I would wash everything that he touched. This includes door handles. Better be safe then sorry.

We bed-share and proud of it. Started bed-sharing in the hospital. Haven’t even bought a second crib yet. Our oldest is in a crib in his room but he also bed-shared until he was ready….not me.

Does anyone know the stats on colic in breastfed babies vs. formula fed babies?

hnicole526 – I don’t have it pierced but have known others that have. It should be complication free. There’s no reason not to breastfeed….of course you have to take them out. HAHA!

scarlet-that sounds like plenty of food. i have a pee wee too and hearing some of these babies’ sizes can make you worry. My guy is 13.5 months old and weighs about 22 lbs and about 30 in tall. He’s in 5% but developing fine. My ped isn’t concerned and I’m sure if yours were you would already know.

Ella, yes the hair is normal. While pregnant the hormones stall out the growth cycle so hair doesn’t die. That’s why women say they have the best hair during pregnancy. After the hormones start calming down…about three months after birth….the cycle starts up again. All that hair that should have died last year is now dying. It’s why I just donate all my hair after birth. I donated about 15in back in January.

When Isaac saw me this morning after I got out of the shower and ‘scold’ him for being up too early, he reached his arms out for me to pick him up out of Daddy’s lap and then he pointed to our nursing chair. I’ve got a nurser that now demands to be nursed!

I only have one child, but I’m pretty sure if you’re going to be a SAHM I would just breastfeed. If you pump, you’ll have to pump everytime you feed to mantain supply so there will be an extra step. Not to mention the bottle washing and preparing. I know several ladies here a second time moms so it’s definitely possible to breastfeed a newborn and watch/entertain a toddler.

you have it right. if you don’t pump, you wont’ make the milk. as long as you didn’t miss a feeding and that is why you feel full, then it won’t hurt your supply. As long as you are feeding your baby on demand, you won’t hurt your supply.

noah colts mommy ~ My little girl is 9 weeks and I think she started teething. I also see two little white bumps in the bottom front teeth. She is drooling and is getting her whole fist inside her mouth to scratch it. Poor thing! Her doc suggested to use the teething rings. She also said that maybe the teeth won’t appear now, but there is enough movement in there to make her uncomfortable. I put one ring in the freezer and held it for her. It was very funny to see her enjoy the coldness but not the taste! Lol!
