YAY!! A place for breasfeeding…I joined IAP a LONG time ago, but never really got into it…I have since had a beautiful baby girl who turned 12 weeks yesterday. I swear, the best thing I ever did was breastfeed….she’s such a little porker…nothin’ better than a chunky baby! 🙂 Kudos to all the mommies and moms-to-be who plan on breastfeeding! Question: lately my little angel is the SLEEPIEST thing…she feeds on demand, nurses while she sleeps (she sleeps in the bed with us) and it seems like she’s never awake. She eats and sleeps…could she just be having a growth spurt and need the extra rest? She has been packing on the weight, too. I don’t want to deprive her if she’s hungry…we were on a schedule until last week (every 3 hours during the day and every 4 at night), now all she wants to do is nurse!

HannahKay – It’s the estrogen that makes you gain.

Seriously why are ff moms such a-holes? They say bfing moms are nazis but I think its the other way around. There is still drama in month 2… its pretty funny.

styx – Before six months all they really need is vitamin D and that is if you don’t get daily sun. My boys were both born in the winter so we give vitamin D to them. Iron is only needed after six months if they are low. At 9 months they are tested for iron. At least here they are. If they are low then it is advised to give drops with iron. We did give it to Chris but it stopped him up so badly that I cut it down to once or twice a week.

2ndtimemommmy – I got pregnant on a high dose bc the first time around. I don’t trust the pill. HAHA! Once Alex starts going longer I’ll just use condems. No big deal cause it’s not like we do it that much. Breastfeeding is more important to me then supply.

oh, stop it stop it! i’m trying to find a way to go back to school and she’d have to go to day care or something, as i have no family available to watch her. =[ She’d only be there 2 days a week, but still… I know it’ll be worth it, because i need to go to school, but i don’t want to!!

For those who are fermenting old-fashioned oatmeal, do you cook it in the microwave, and if so for how long? I soaked 1/2 cup in 1/2 cup of water, and it was pretty dry by morning, so I added some milk, but wasn’t sure how long it should cook in the microwave.

Alright ladies, I need help? I’m making a breastfeeding package for a friend. I’ve got a boppy, two covers and a water slip for it, lanolin, nipple butter, booby tubes, lily padz, nursing necklace, MMT and…… What else should I put in there?

I love my Ergo. Best thing this time around! Because he’s so freakin’ HUGE the bjorn and other wraps weren’t very comfy. It’s easy to get on when you are trying to unload the car for a simple trip into the grocery. Carries good weight too, up to 40lbs. Love it!

My kids are 20 months apart so I have a 2 year old and a 3 month old and I EBF..My 2 year old took some adjusting to during feedings but now she is better..Some have recommended reading a book to the older while nursing or a special nursing box of toys for the older one…I would totally suggest nursing with a older one..Bottles are a lot harder
