hello ladies.. im in a little trouble here.. my LO is 3 months old and for the first time he has THRUSH.. hes got some white 0n his lips.. upper and lower.. at first i just thought they were blisters from breastfeeding.. but it seems to be spreading.. and now seems to have a yeast infection 🙁 my question is… do i have to be treated for it as well… he NEVER has a bottle so the only thing he could possibly get it from is from my breasts right? are we going to pass it back and forth? how long will it take to go away?

Tifanie – you’re not the first to cry over cluster feeding, believe me. I love bfing, but cluster feeding is definitely one part I will not miss. My lo has gone 6 hours straight a couple times. Maybe some of the other ladies can confirm, but i’m pretty sure you won’t run out of milk ‘cuz your body is constantly making more. I’ve wondered the same before though 🙂 good luck, you’re doing great!!

My DD is driving me crazy today. She’s doing her whole ‘don’t wanna eat sitting up’ thing again. It’s soooo frustrating 🙁 She’s tired and hungry and refusing to eat, just crying. So tiring 🙁

Wow Bri – 12 days and 11.5 lbs!! What a cute little chunky monkey haha! My daughter is one too at 6 months and 25 lbs (she was 8.2 at birth)… Last time I was at the ped she lectured me about her weight. I was like she is ebf and what am I supposed to do not feed her when she is hungry? Anyway, it’s so funny how these sweet little ones can grow at such different rates!

Be careful with those stupid avent screw bottom bottles. I used them in the beginning and the bottom wasnt screwed on right and twice I lost like 8oz of milk!! Hard earned pumped milk I might add!!! Those were definitely my least favorite of the bottles becuase the nipple flows just were never right for us. And we tried them all!

expecting-2b-patient – My son has almost all of his teeth (About 16) and he RARELY bites. He started to a bit when he started getting his molars but You just have to tell them ‘No biting.’ in a firm voice just like you would say ‘Don’t pull that down’ Breastfeeding doesn’t cause your child to throw fits (your baby will do that if they want to, whether it’s about breastfeeding or a toy) Don’t take one or two babies reactions as a reason to stop nursing.

My girl only nursed for about 5 minutes on one side as well. I just pumped the other and wound up with a huge frozen supply, 500 ounces, which I did use because when I went back to work I pumped twice a day, but she had three bottles a day, so I needed the extra 100 ounces a month. A lot of work, but SO WORTH IT. She never needed formula.

EllasMommy23 – Good for you! I actually missed it when my son weaned at 22month. It was crazy because I was sorta glad because I was also pregnant at the time and didn’t want to tandem feed but willing to if that is what happened but then I was sad because I didn’t want to lose what Chris and I had. We still cuddle and such and I love feeding his brother. He hasn’t asked to restart either which I’m glad. Breastfeeding was definately the hardest thing I ever did, the first time around. This time it’s easy! It is also one of the most rewarding things ever!

I plan on baby led weaning, too. Like PGFirstTimer, I’ll be relieved once we make it to 12 months and i don’t have to pump or wonder about my supply since she won’t nurse as much, probably. But i love BF, so we’ll go until whenever. and hopefully I’ll be preggos again so i can just keep nursing hahaha

lorelaismom – That’s cute. I do sometimes but my son thinks I’m a jungle gym. He’ll climb onto me which makes planks a little more difficult. HAHA! I like the decompressing time when I’m alone.

I use Mirena for birth control. I like it so far. My dr said that it hurts less the sooner you have it put in after having the baby because your body isn’t completely back to normal yet. I had it put in at my 6 week appt and I had a little bleeding that day, but then none since them. I didn’t have any stomach issues from it. So far I love it because I can’t remember to take a pill to save my life!
