jpeanut – I consider myself as EBF even though I have to give Alyssa 1 bottle of breastmilk a day while I am at work. I say EBF because she does not get ANY formula whatsoever. So breastmilk via breast or bottle is still EBF in my book. At least that’s how I refer to it and I think that’s how the other ladies here see it too. I hope that clarifies things. As for the EASY routine…it’s just a routine that breaks the baby’s day up in blocks of 3 or 4 hours, depending on age. The routine is Eat, Activity, Sleep/Your Time and repeat. HTH! 🙂

Hi everyone, I have a few questions for you ladies… This is my second baby and I breast fed for 3 months with my daughter but I never made enough for her so I never got a chance to save any. So how long can you keep pumped milk in the fridge? And also my little guy is only 5 days old and I am getting full way more often then he is eating so I am pumping it out. Can I start freezing this milk is it going to be different then my milk a few months from now? Ok one more my left breast feels like corn on the cob under the skin lumpy and hard even after I feed. It is a little painful but not too bad , last night I took a warm bath and massaged it under the water to help relieve it and it helped a little bit but is there anything else I should do I think I have a plugged duct or something. Thanks in advance for comments!

hi ladys i want to let anyone that is having touble nursing feel free to ask me any questions i nursed my 1st until 13mths and my 2nd until 12mths neither one ever got any formula! my 1st i stayed home with her alot of the time and was able to get away with a whole lot of pumping. which made it diffacult for me to be able to leave her alone with anyone because she was not fond of the bottle or i was not good at pumping the best thing all of you shouiold know that if u plan on going back to work and pumping to start pumping afer each feeding to inhance your milk flow and store milk for when you do go back so you have alot stored … also if you start pumping to late it is hard to get your milk up to supply more then baby needs so you can store it and also the pump has a differnt suck. what i did with my 2nd is after i nursed her on eachsiide id hand her to hubby or put her down and pump so it made me have more milk and also my body was use to it. it is hard at first but this was super good for my babys… 🙂 good luck

Excited – wish we lived near each other… we could pull ‘all nighters’ with our little guys! I have just told myself it’s okay. If no one likes it then it’s their problem. Now I feel sooo much better. I don’t think that what I’m doing will scar my son for life. We are just going to co-sleep till he is ready. I am hoping and praying it is sooner then later- don’t get me wrong. Also at night when Daddy and I aren’t ready for bed yet we just take turns holding the sleeping baby on the couch- kinda pathetic, but what are we going to do, it bets him screaming! I go back to work in 3wks part-time, I was really wishing he’d be sleep/crib trained by them, but doesn’t look good. SIGH! Just know I’m with you!!!!

Hi I just wanted to share my excitement with you all. I had decided at when little one was 5 months to start weaning to formula because i was going back to work and I did not want to be pumping at work (selfish personal chioce i know ). however we have decided that i will stay at home and not go back to work so I a few weeks ago I decided to try and build my supply back up. I was down to 1 to 2 breastfeeds a day and 3 bottles of formula a day at 8 months. I am now back to breast feeding 3 times a day and only giving one bottle of formula. I hope to drop the last formula feed next week and be giving 4 breast feeds a day and stop formula all together. This is a huge step for me as i have never really totally enjoyed breastfeeding but I know it is the best option for my baby so I am going to stick it out for as long as she wants it.

My Pump’n’style is a lifesaver! We actually went out of town this past weekend and I didn’t have time to get it packed up and into the car before we left. We spent 12 hours in the car so I was hand expressing bottles to pass to the back seat most of the ride up and then back down. Will never make that mistake again!!!

tiffado – Congrats and that’s awesome that she’s moving over to the breast so well. As for nursing both sides that would depend. My first always ate from both sides. I would sit him up and burp him and switch sides. I would have to wake him to do that. But with my second I don’t. He only eats on one side unless it’s right before bed. Then he wants both. Alex hasn’t had any weight issues, actually he’s a giant so I’ve never worried. If he lost a little it wouldn’t be a big deal but he’s continueing to gain like a mad man. In your situation I would probably try to feed on both sides. Since she was a bit smaller you want her to gain as much as she can. If she doesn’t want the second side then I wouldn’t worry. That means she’s full and you can’t force her to eat. Congrats again!

lauraoct – I don’t know what to tell you. I don’t believe in ‘baby training’. I let me children develop how they should. Sleep is just one of those milestones. I also believe that if a baby needs to eat at night then they should. My first was sleeping through the night the first month and started waking when I went back to work. He was over a year when he would consisantly sleep throuhg again. It never really bothered me because I knew he needed me. My second wakes usually once a night. He’s almost five months but we also co-sleep so I hardly wake up. Some babies just need that mommy time in the middle of the night, in my opinion.

My baby girl hasent pooed in 6 days. Last time she went 3 days without pooing. It was scary but when she did oh boy did she go. It was not thick at all. It was yellow, seedy, and watery. Poor Onsie had to go to the garbage. No salvaging that one.

Balsamfir – Many women do because they don’t really know how the breasts work. When their babies are first born they have engorgement (something I’ve never had) and then what seems like over night they are now soft and unimpressive. HAHA! It’s just a worry that moms have. Even though breastfeeding is a passion of mine I still have that anxiety in the back of my mind. Especially with me trying to lose weight. I drink my tea daily and even on days that I think I’m even less full then I already am I have my oatmeal. Just my little idiosequency (sp?) HAHA!

soo, my lil bub is turning 11 months soon and i just found out this morning that im pregnant. i cant believe it im soo shocked!!!!! this was not the plan atall. i notice the past couple weeks ive been nauseas and last night at work i was gagging cause my patient smelled god aweful and this morning while driving home (from my third shift job) i started crying because the road was blocked and i had to do a detour. so thats when i really thought ok, the guy was nasty but usually i can go without gagging then the emotional thing hmmm. so then i stopped at walgreens for a test and im not kidding it was the fast, most clear positve ive ever had. i had to keep going back and looking at it cause i couldnt believe it. how am i suppose to handle a newborn, a 1 1/2 year old, and a second grader who struggles in school, and work my third shift job???? this is crazy- im already sleep deprived and i just finally lost all my baby weight.
