laura-that’s funny. i was feeling the same way last night. recently putting isaac to sleep has been a bit of a challenge. anyhow i finally got him to sleep and got up from my chair to put him in his crib and dh turned the lamp off. We went into complete darkness and it caused isaac to stir and I couldn’t see his face. i swayed with him in my arms until i felt him settle and then laid him in his crib which always causes him to stir so i pat him until he settles. well last night i couldn’t see his face so i had to go by sound alone. i thought i had done it but was only about 50% sure. i was wrong. as soon as we shut the nursery door he started to wail. i sent daddy into get him back to sleep. i was so ill about him turning the light off on me.

Your so lucky!!!! She has such a hard time going down for nap and bed but the longer she naps the longer she sleeps at night

it’s the rule of thumb but not all babies do. It’s more what the average does and what doctors tend to see.

PG- so glad to hear someone elses LO does this! We are trying to keep Ella in her bed, now, to see if it helps. I still get up with her multiple times at night, but once she nurses to sleep i put her in her bed instead of just falling asleep like i used to. It’s so hard to have her in bed! She gets up and down off of it, wanders around the room, trys to dive off over Daddy and I when she is on. She literally moves around in a circle kicking wildly. Can’t tell you how many times i’ve gotten kicked in the nose as i’m drifting off. Daddy was seriously starting to get mad as she really likes kicking him! But yeah, it is so hard! And the thing is up until around 10 or 11 months she was sleeping 12 hours straight!! Now i have to fight her to sleep at bedtime, nap time, and all throughout the night!!

John takes a bottle and i’m thinking of starting that at bedtime, then pumping before bed and using that when he wakes! momma needs sleep..

I agree, you have a different bond with a breastfed baby. Doesn’t mean you love your other children any less but it’s a strong hormonal and emotional response.

I have been put on an antibiotic and was wondering if any of you had to take amoxicillin while bf and what were the side effects on your lo and did it lower your supply?

bals-how long have you been back to work. it may be that baby is missing you during the day and sleeping more while you are gone and in turn staying up later for mommy time when you are there. it could also be just a one night thing.

First time mom — first time breastfeeding — tried my pump out for the first time tonight. Clearly, I’m a newbie and a bit clueless, so please forgive this easy question: If I store breastmilk in the fridge, do I give it to baby cooled or do I need to warm it to room temp?

Just trying to see if this is the norm or not my baby is 6 mos old she still wakes up twice a night to breastfeed although I try to fed her baby cereal or baby food 3 times a day breakfast, lunch & a late dinner, somedays it doesnt workout cause she’d rather nurse 🙂 She went for her 6mos chk up & the doctor said I should cut her cold turkey from nursing at night Im like WTH I may wean her from the night time feedings but cold turkey seems a lil harsh for me… Are any of you all still waking up to nurse a baby 6mos or older ??? Ive also noticed since feeding her baby food since Im not nursing as much I hv started spotting…Im on the depo shot & im due to get another shot in august which I will not be getting cause I hate the weight gain since the shot … but is it normal to hv some spotting when u go from only bf to introducing bay food since ur child prob doesnt eat as much ??? just curious my son is almost 13 so I cant remember how it went with him :-//

Hey ladies I have a question. My son is 4 months old and I have been exclusively breastfeeding but now I think I might have to supplement. i have had milk stored up but now that I am back to work it is going away quickly. How exactly do you guys supplement? Just one bottle of formula a day or two? Im confused and also how many ounces should I make??

i must admit my bf was easy for me from the start, but it was all down to my son.He did all the work.a few of my friends tried to bf and couldnt because of reflux,or it was too painful and wer dreading feeding time.one of them got really depressed and didnt feel like a good mother. im pro bf but i try to be careful not to upset some mothers …ive have met a lot of women that look discusted when i tell them im bf?!
