I don’t feel letdown either. I also have never been engorged except the first day my milk came in and I was huge but not in pain.

Heather: I too am wooried about cutting back on the motilium. I just got another script from my Dr and got 2 repeats, I have a good supply that is perfect so i dont want it to drop again. But like all the literature says you just drop a tablet at a time and make suire there is no dip in supply before dropping a next tablet. I should try too as i have been on it for months. Pretty much since Emi was about 9 weeks old and she is almost 5 months. I take 2 10mg tabs 3 times a day =60mg

I need input because I am freaking out!!! My son is a little over two months old. About a month after I had him I had a period…but haven’t had one since. My doctor told me since I’m breastfeeding it may not come back right away..but I’m still worried I may be pregnant again. Have any of you ladies had irregular periods or anything like this??! Help please!

I have been breastfeeding my son for the last four months now, the first couple months he would eat every 4 hours and he was fine with that now the last month he has been eating every two hours (during the day)..and its hard to hold him off for the two hours..I swear if he could stay connected to me all day he would! I thought this was just a growth spurt but he has been doing this for almost a month now..Does this mean im not making enough milk for him? Or is it not satisfying him? Do you think its time to start him on cereal? Thanks!!

lglenn38 – My son is 15months and we are going strong. We got past the biting through a lot of pain! My son is a bit stubborn. What worked was when he bit I would tell him no and set him on his bottom. He would melt because he knew he mad me angry/sad. I would give it a minute or so and pick him up and explain to him that biting hurts. It took about two weeks but he got used to his teeth and learned not to bite. He was about 7-8months when this all happened. He was also done nursing for that time period. Remember, if they bite it’s when they aren’t actively nursing. They can’t bite while drinking so you know you aren’t depriving them of food. I honestly believe it takes a bit for them to learn how to nurse with teeth but they do learn. Keep trying and your baby will get past it. Oh and if you nurse with your thumb/finger on your baby’s chin then s/he can’t close his/her mouth. It works and helped me when I was bleeding and scared to nurse. Oh and I got so many comments about ‘oh it looks like he’s self weaning’ or ‘it’s time to wean’. That’s not true, in fact, Kekoa loves nursing and I plan on beginning to wean at 18 months and don’t know how we’ll do it since he loves it so much. Good Luck! I feel your pain but I’m sure you can get through it.

Hi y’all. I know this is not the right forum but I didn’t see a more appropriate one so I’m gonna ask. This is the 4th period I’ve had since I had my baby a year ago (I’m still nursing). My periods hurt now and I’m wondering if it is going to calm down or be this way from now on. It’s not cramps, it is a pain kind of near my clitoris (I.m sorry to be so graphic). It hurts while standing and feels better from the presure of sitting. It lasts the first couple of days and then goes away as my period is ending. Also, tampons are extremely uncomfortable during the beginning of my period. I’m sorry for being so graphic but my sisters had c-sections and don’t seem to know what I’m talking about. Also….the umbilical cord broke off after the baby was born and the doctor had to literally reach into me and pull out my placenta so I wouldn’t hemmorage. Maybe that has something to do with it? My annual exam is about 6 weeks away so I’m planning on asking my doctor then but I was gonna see if anyone here had any thoughts.

wow I’m so impressed with you ladies who have such a large freezer supply. I guess I should have been pumping and saving all along. I’m just now starting. Garrett is 4 months old now and I have 1 bag in the freezer and 3 5oz bottles in the fridge. I only give him a bottle of expressed milk at night before bed because he’s cranky and doesn’t like to work for his milk at that time.. I pump after he goes to bed for the next night.. but I’ve been pumping after every feed so thats how I have the little bit of extra that I do.. Am I doing that right? How are most of you building your freezer supply?

Well good luck Izzie! I think hormone changes and your cycle coming back can make you feel a bunch of things. I tested every week for three weeks cause I had no idea why I felt pregnant. I could have sworn I was. Obviously I wasn’t but I thought I was. I was sick, bloated, tired, hungry and moody. Even now I get really really tired around my cycle. It’s weird cause I never used to. I used to get mild cramps that let me know it was coming but now I don’t get those. My only warning is my need to sleep. On that note, I’m going to go take a nap while Kekoa sleeps….yeah it’s that time. HAHA!

angie, it is combined. not from each. its just total milk pumped that your lo should give 1 oz per hr you are gone with a few oz’s extra for safe measures. and the 25 oz a day is total too so as long as you feel she is atleast getting that she is ok and won’t dehydrate or anything. Its also common for your little one to use more of what you feed her as she gets older so her wets could go down a bit. I found it interesting when I learned just what they mean by a full diaper. If you take 3 tablespoons of water and dump it into her diaper that is what they consider to be a full diaper. I was shocked at how little it really felt like. If you are a little worried you could try soaked old fashion oatmeal in the mornings. That is equal parts old fashion oats to water and soaked over night then in the am just heat and eat the way you like with sugar, brown sugar, syrup, or what ever.

julieandbaby – Ditto the other ladies! It is so normal. Don’t expect to start getting into a routine until at LEAST three months, if not longer. Our little ones are growing so fast that they need the nutrition. Plus, by eating every hour or so your baby is telling your boobs to speed up production. Around three months you will notice baby going just a little longer and your boobs won’t feel as overloaded. No worries! You are doing a great job.

since Tryn was born she has only eaten from one side per feeding. And that is usually only for about 5-7 mins. My right boob is always bigger than my left and produces more because she tends to favor that side.

Ok, so when Kekoa was 8months or so and had just gotten his third and fourth teeth he got into a biting habit that just about killed me until we learned not to. So, yhis morning, my hubby went and pulled Kekoa into bed with us. He usually plays in bed with us in the weekend mornings to give us a break but he wanted milk so I laid him down next to me. And he bit me! Ugh! I haven’t felt this much pain since last summer. Grrrr! Now I’m still in pain with a little scab. He didn’t mean to and started to cry when I screamed. I let him nurse on the other side and he was happy but DAMN!!! HAHA! He has 12 teeth with two canines coming in. HAHA! Little razors on my nipple. I actually got sympathy from my not to sympathic husband on that one!

I’m not ready to give up by any means. I cry at the thought! We will just see how tomorrow goes. I was doing so well the past few weeks getting 16 plus oz a day when pumping at work. My hubby saw something about Reglan on the news and said he thinks the health risks are too high and I need to quit taking considering i have been on it over four months. I agree with him. I have only cut out one pill a day out of three and the change in supply was 3.75 oz. So I am still getting 12 oz and will continue to nurse as long as possible. MAybe my body is just adjusting and tomorrow is a new day.
