I was one of the unlucky ones that got AF back in the first month. Had the Mirena put in when AF#2 was due, AF#3 is due this week and I still haven’t seen it! Just the occasional very light spotting. I’m thrilled. And the hormones just stay in your uterus so the risk of supply issues is low, I think most supply drops w/ it are related to AF because a lot of women will have it for 6 months or so. Good luck w/ your decision! I’m thrilled with mine, for whatever that’s worth. My sister’s fell out and now I have a 3 year old nephew! lol

There is a mom in the 12 month forum who has been told that still nursing her baby 4 to 5 times a day is way too often. So sad 🙁 I can’t help but wonder what the people saying that to her would think of my 10+ nursings per day at 12 months 🙂

lauraoct -Did you mean weaning completely off the breast or just solids? I don’t understand why anyone would wean before a year. Why start bottle feeding formula at six months? I don’t see the point nor do I like formula. I won’t something to my child that I won’t even eat/drink.

I’m guessing you have looked up cures for recurring thrush? I’ve read that something stronger than nystatin is sometimes necessary but don’t have much for suggestions. I’m sorry you’re still dealing with this :(:(

didderty – It really depends on your diet. If you are getting all the nutrients that you need then yes it’s a waste. Also, DHA is found in breastmilk. They use algae to create artificial DHA. It’s not something I buy or even buy into. If you are breastfeeding then it’s not needed.

I hear you on hitting makes your child fearful of you, not respect you more! My Mother use to spank our bear buts with a wooden spoon if we did something really bad. I don’t own 1 wooden spoon, LOL! She’d also back hand me and smack me for random ‘bad stuff’ I’d do. She was by NO MEANS abusiveI, that was just her way of punishing us. But I grew up HATING HER and being so scared of her. Sometimes she’d go to hug us and we’d flintch, thing we were getting hit. I by no means want my children to feel that way toward me =(

I was just thinking about pumping. I’ve been slowly weaning myself from the pump over the last month. I now have only 16 more minutes of time I must spend with my pump! YAY!

Casen, the exact thing happened to me when my daughter was about 6-8 weeks. I read that babies go through a growth spurt around then and that your supply will catch up. But I also agree that being exhausted at the end of the day probably has a lot to do with it, so do eat a bit more, plus drink lots of water around that time. For us, it only lasted a couple weeks, but it was the most frustrating time in our whole breastfeeding relationship– which went on smoothly after that for two years! Just hold on! There is one herb that is widely accepted for increasing milk supply if you feel you need it (I tried it around that time): fenugreek, which you can get in capsules.

I would for peace of mind. I know it is so horrible they just want to cuddle but you try not to as you don’t want them heating up. I hate it when james gets one. Hope Ollie isn’t prone to them also.

momofcash – My first had iron issues at 9 months. Our doctor said to push the meats and broccoli. Alex is an awesome eater with meats so hopefully he won’t be at 9 months when we test. Poly-vi-sol has one with iron. Actually I think you can get Tri-vi-sol with iron too. It made Chris sooo constipated that we started doing it twice a week. It smelled like blood too which was AWFUL!! I want to avoid it with Alex. He has meat and iron rich veggies everyday.

What is rotovirus? Teething is horrible, hope Alex is over this bout soon. James is teething also, only has 4 left to get. Hope he gets them before Ollie starts but doubt it, James got his first at 14 weeks. The basket idea is a really kind though I am sure your friend will really appreciate it. My friend is due to give birth second child. She didn’t bf her first, but when she saw me doing it she said she would try with second. I just know she is not going to. We have been friends for 15 years, but she hasn’t really grown out of the getting drunk every weekend thing you did when you were younger. Just such a shame.

thrush is a yeast infection in the babies mouth that gets passed back and forth between you! Its HORRIBLE it hurts lol I can tell instantly when he gets it we are on our second round right now. You have to sanitize everything that comes into contact with your babies mouth and your breasts.
