charmara-I was told that suphedrine (nasal decongestant) was safe but I asked the pharmacist and they just said to call the doctor. I’ll be giving a call a little later if I can’t handle the congestion anymore. For now I’m using a saline spray and a breath right strip and it does feel a little better.

PGFirstTimer – You’ll do fine. We all get sick and have these dips. They do come back with a bit of nursing. Use the time to cuddle with your little one. Feed as often as Baby wants to, even if that means every hour. Pj’s and nursing marathons are the best after being sick!

My boy is 6mons and I just started back to work part-time on Monday. I was in tears Mon. trying to find a place to pump. The place I thought I’d go didn’t have a plug outlet and I didn’t have the battery pack. Other places didn’t have locks and I made a sign and hung it on the door. Then went back and the room was taken. Next day I thought forget it I’ll go into my spply closet were only a few people have the key. But yea dripping flanges across the hallways, LOL! Plus I’ve got to pump on my breaks, so those wipessound quicker! THANKS for the site!

I was one of the unlucky ones that got AF back in the first month. Had the Mirena put in when AF#2 was due, AF#3 is due this week and I still haven’t seen it! Just the occasional very light spotting. I’m thrilled. And the hormones just stay in your uterus so the risk of supply issues is low, I think most supply drops w/ it are related to AF because a lot of women will have it for 6 months or so. Good luck w/ your decision! I’m thrilled with mine, for whatever that’s worth. My sister’s fell out and now I have a 3 year old nephew! lol

So I have somewhat of an odd question – Is it safe to get a tattoo while breastfeeding? I have DS1’s name tattooed on me, and want to get DS2’s name as well. DS1 was a lot older when I got it done though, and not bfing anymore. So, has anyone ever got a tattoo while BF? Or know if it’s safe or not? It’s not something I’m going to do right away, I have absolutely zero extra money right now, but it would just be nice to know if I have to wait until he’s weaned – which will still be quite a long time!

seuban0 – Good for you! My husband knows I have done my research so when it comes to the children he let’s me do my thing. Behavior issues is another thing, he and I have to be together on that one. Oh and injuries. He’s done so many life saving courses and such that if he’s around I look to him to fix the injury.

mybabysurprise, my son was also on antibiotics, i gave him culturelle infant probiotic with it, its dairy free so its easier on their tummies at this age..yogurt can still be harsh for some. u can find it at cvs drug stores. he was just about to start getting diarrhea from the antibiotic when i started him on it and that nipped it in the bud. hang in there, that is quite exhausting. ive been thinking of u and wondering how you’ve been doing. vent away on here, support helps tons and we’re here to offer it 🙂 hope lil mason feels better. mine had a reaction to the rototeq vaccine and since then ive been off dairy, soy, shellfish, and eggs. he was totally completely fine before. ugh! im all for vaccines but just hate that he had a rxn

babyknight – My first would not take one. He didn’t have a good suck reflex. But Alex is another story. He’s constantly sucking on something. So, we give him one at night. I hate seeing toddlers running around with them so we’ve limited it to the bedroom. I’ve heard that that’s a good way for them not to get addicted to them during the day. During the day he sucks on his hands and toys.

Get a Moby wrap.. there are several different ways to wear your baby. I still have a post partum backache but I can handle this one for hours.

Opinions please…not related to BF, but like many of you, I trust you more than my ‘month’ moms! My MIL wants to take my boys to the zoo on Saturday with her sister and her sister’s two grandchildren. I don’t know if I should let them go or not… We haven’t gone to the zoo with them yet, and we do like to do ‘firsts’ with them. In addition to that, my MIL likes to forget that she is the grandma, not the mom. She never listens to me and will often times defy me right in front of me. If we tell Ayden that he doesn’t need any more cookies/candy/crap she will give it to him while we are still telling him no! If he gets in trouble for doing something, she tells him that its okay to do it. Drives me crazy! Anyway, I don’t trust her driving and have told her numerous times that we don’t want her taking our boys places. She does it anyway and has gone out and gotten car seats for both of them. When she gets together with this sister, they become incredibly irresponsible. I have a very bad feeling about it, but since I work all day Saturday, the hubby thinks its fine for them to go since it will give him some kid-free time. He claims he is going to get house/yard work done, but really, he is going to read/sleep/play video games. I feel like if I say ‘no’ its going to be out of defiance, and part of me says ‘its just the zoo, they will love it’ but then that naggy part of me just doesn’t feel right about them going…

Oh this sucks I’ve been away from my baby all day. I’m out of town for a funeral and so far I’ve only gotten the chance to pump once. I only got 4 oz… I’m in a lot of pain. Urgh I’ve been in a plane for an hour then a car for 3 hours quik pump in a public bathroom now car and back to plane. Its been a horrible day. I hope my supply doesn’t take too bad of a hit

coloradomama, one more thing, are you using a good hospital grade pump? You can get a prescription for a rental, and it’s a must have for productive pumping while you work with your daughter. I feel your frustration, but don’t give up just yet!

Z’s dad and I got in a fight about Tylenol. Her nurse told me I COULD give her some if I WANTED to. So, of course, I wanted to hold off and keep a better eye on her temp. She’s asleep anyway. He flipped out, told me a baby’s fever can spike in an instant (I know). My argument is that fevers are a good thing, they kill bacteria and tell your body to make more antibodies. As long as I’m monitoring it, what’s the harm in waiting? She’s sleeping!
