We used Tri-Vi-Sol when Kekoa was really small because he was a November baby in Seattle. He loves the taste and still does. HAHA! Once summer came around we stopped but the following winter we moved to Poly-Vi-Sol since he wasn’t EB any longer. Now he still gets Poly but that’s just cause his eating can be eratic sometimes. I am looking into a toddler vitamin that I can start giving me.
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6914738thanks for your comments and support i did some research last night on the benefits of frozen breastmilk, my concern was the loss of nutrients( did not like that) well even frozen breastmilk is better than formula, i plan on getting the medela pump and style and going to google it to see what it looks like. my evenflo pump needs help, lol.
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6914994Well my baby boy just turned 1 on Monday which means I’ve been breastfeeding a year already. Looking back it wasn’t always easy as I have chronic low supply but I’m glad I stuck with it. Brody hasn’t been sick yet even when I work at a hospital and everyone around us was. My advice to anyone with chronic low supply is motillium, motillium motillium…lol. That stuff is great. That and I bought fenugreek wholesale..u know it only costs like 4 bucks a pound!! For me increasing pumping never worked. I could pump every 10 minutes and never increase my supply. Good luck to all you mommies out there..keep up the great work!!
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6915250I have a little advice on the ‘no sex-drive’ issue. My advice is DO IT. Force yourself to have sex with your partner. Just turn off all the lights, forget about any body image issues & concentrate on yourself & ur husband. Make yourself do it for like 3 nights in a row. Hubby will be VERY pleased & suddenly u will feel sexy again & your sex drive will start returning. I was the same way at first (my LO is now 4 months old) but I forced myslef back into it & now our sex life is almost back to normal. I don’t know if this post is a TMI one but I’m telling you ladies, the more you have it, the more you want it. Just go for it! You have to get back into the swing of things, you know what they say: use it or loose it lol good luck π
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6915506thanks bri, I’ll look it up! Mom2dom, I never fed in public with my older son either, but then he was only EBF for the first 8 weeks of his life. Then I went back to work, and somehow ended up giving him formula – I can’t remember the details of how that happened, I think I just listened to my mom who said I had to (I was 17 and naive, and she was a nurse so I didn’t question her). I don’t think I ever pumped at all back then, but it was 9 years ago, and hard to remember. Anyhow, with Braeden I researched a heck of a lot more, and decided he will be EBF as long as possible, and since I live 60minutes from the nearest city, and have an active 9 year old, who participates in a few sports, that meant getting over my fear of feeding in public. Now it doesn’t bother me at all. Interesting point though, it seems to bother my husband. He’s usually at work when I’m out and about, so we hadn’t really talked about it, but then tonight we went out for dinner, and he asked me to take the baby outside to feed him! I couldn’t believe it, and absolutely refused. He’s gonna have to get used to me feeding the baby when and where he needs to be fed!
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #69157621byfaith- thanks so much for the info. I think I’m gonna give him a taste & see his reaction.
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6916018my son only takes a half bottle for his last so he has room to nurse when i pick him up. he started it on his own and did this for about two weeks before i just started taking a half bottle for his last. also i use the medela brand storage bags with no problem.
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6916274brennae – I love that trick! I’m going to try it too!
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6916530yeah, i only work 3 days a week, so she only gets a bottle 3 times a week and i don’t want her to get more than that. mostly because i hate pumping! haha
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6916786MyBabySuprise – The first time around yes I did pump. I had to. I was working when I got it. It just means that you need to sterilize everything each night and between pumps at work you need to clean the parts with burning hot water. This also goes for the bottles that baby drinks out of as well. The cleaner everything is the quicker it’ll go away. This time I’m not working so I just need to sterilize bras everyday.
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6917042Gosh guys…I am sooo bummed! I am supposed to go to the wedding show with my sister in law tomorrow for a few hours, I thought I would get ahead a pump some milk for my 7 month old who has always been exclusively breastfed until we started her on solids (she subsequently got solids and breastmilk) she has never had formula or anything like that. Ive pumped in the past with great outcomes….Until tonight that is. I pumped for 20 minutes and got all of 1/4 ounce, not even! I cant help but wonder if my breastmilk supply is drying up or something…my daughter still nurses frequently during the day and at least 2-3 times a night! Aside from not having gotten much breastmilk during my pumping session today making it so I cant go out tomorrow Im now worried that I dont have enough milk for my daughter…..Have any of you experienced this? Is there a reason why my milk supply would decrease when Im still nursing as much as I did before? Im sorry for this post being so long! TIA

April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6917554i have a question my little one sleeps threw the night basically and because of that i am so afraid of him getting diaper rash ..should i wake him to change him or what do i do? …also my little one has developed a bad habit of screaming when i set him down even at night i started co sleeping now because he has a total melt down if hes not in my arms its making house work and anything else near impossible because of this i know seperation anxiety is normal to some degree but it so bad i have to take him in the bath with me because he will hold his breath and freak out but as soon as i pick him up hes fine and smiling he wont even calm down for his dad he will some times but not always anyone else deal with this before?
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6917810deeyore, he’s 10 WEEKS, not days! OMG, he could never have taken that much at 10 days! lol. And we were gone for 5 hours, and that 6 oz was all he had the whole time, so bang on right amount, I think π
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6918066phatbaby57 – Letdowns happen when the glands/ducts release the milk. You have several ducts and women have many during nursing. One after another. Most don’t notice these multiple letdowns as each duct releases milk.
