We just started introducing solids Halloween weekend. He is/was 4.5months old. We started with rice cereal for three days then it seemed to constipate him so I contacted the pediatrician and stopped giving it to him in the meantime. I started back yesterday and introduced pears. Next I’ll do bananas and then sweet potatoes and carrots and then avocado and then we’ll just have to see. I bought a book to help me as intend to prepare his baby food instead of buying the store stuff. By the way my pediatrician didn’t think he was constipated and doesn’t consider a baby constipated unless it’s been more than 6 days or there is pain or a struggle associated with pooping. It will make his pattern, texture, and smell really different even after just one feeding.

I agree that it’s all when your baby is ready. You could do everything the same as the next Mommy and it’s all up to your baby. Also remember that breastmilk digests easier and quicker then formula. Formula doesn’t digest as easy and makes babies tummy work a lot harder and for longer time, thus most will sleep through the night before breastfed. My baby is 11wks and he wakes up 3-4 times a night STILL! But if I give him a bottle of expressed milk I do notice he’ll get real full and sleep maybe 4hrs straight– Wa-hoo!! LOL!!

Today’s the world is returning towards natural way of curing due to the harmful effects of today’s chemical & synthetic medicines. People are deeply worried on this issue and also insisting to use natural way of curing to get health & security.

Our vitiligo cure process is 100% Natural / herbal.

babybellybliss – probably but it can take a while. You need to locate the clog and make sure it’s gone. Mastitis is an infection so as long as you clear up the infection it can go away. I don’t recommend it though. I would ask for a different prescription. Keflex maybe? Last time my son had Amoxicillian for an ear infection and it gave him diarrhea. It was so bad because it killed the good and bad bacteria. So, I ended up having to go dairy free for several months, this after having diarrhea for two months. But, when I was on Keflex (I can’t take the cillians) it didn’t do anything to his tummy. For babies, Omicef is better then the cillians….ask for it if they want to give you baby anti-biotics for anything. It’s much more gentle on the tummy.

*wyatts*mommy*, let him sleep! If he starts getting a rash, put some vaseline on his bottom at his last diaper change. Even when they were waking in the night, I didn’t change my boys so that they would stay in their sleepy state and we never had any issue!

*wyatts*mommy*, I do nurse at church. We have a ‘nursing mothers’ room, but I refuse to leave service just to feed my baby! It does take some coordination and practice, but you can get to a point where it is very easy to get up, down, up, down without much issue.

babybean, he could be having a growth spurt, which would be why he doesn’t seem satisfied. Just nurse through it, and if he needs to eat more often, ‘feed him more often, it will help to build your supply. We’re going through that now, and my boobs seem much emptier than normal…. but I know in a day or two when he slows down on his nursing, I’m going to get seriously engorged. Also, about not hearing him swallow, I don’t always hear Braeden. As long as there’s some milk dribbling from his mouth, or you can squeeze some out, I wouldn’t be too concerned.

please stop talking about sex decreasing with each additional child. i don’t think me or dh could cope with that. as it is now we’ve promised each other if by Sunday we hadn’t had sex each week we would make ourselves then. i’m not a touchy person and if i’m not at work i have a bald guy that gets all handsy with me. i’m rarely in the mood, but most sundays it’s good once it starts happening. getting the ball rolling is the hard part.

my son was very sensitive to caffiene…everything I ate really. My daughter has no problems with me eating or drinking anything. I think it just depends on the kiddo. She does get a little gassy if I eat beans but she doesn’t get fussy…just passes it. It’s funny how each child is different.

james would never drink out of a bottle so i fed him for those 15 months. I did want to go to 18 months but because i was pregnant my nipples were so sensitive and james had 14 teeth at the time and would bite sometimes by accident.

i do think people make up excuses for not breastfeeding as well!!! if they wanted to they could continue to. my baby was ebf for the first six weeks….i started supplementing a small amount of formula weeks 7-8……since 9 weeks (she is 12 weeks today) she is being fed mostly formula….but i am still pumping 4-5 times a day and breastfeeding her 1-2 times a day and she gets a bottle of pumped milk a day. the reason i am not ebf anymore is because she was fussy ALL day and having 4-5 hour screaming fits at night time. now she is just fussy all the time minus the 4-5 hour screaming fits. but i am planning on going back to ebf next tuesday when she is exactly 3 months old. my dr said most babies digestive systems are on track by 3 months. but i have continued to no avail pumping to make sure my milk supply stays up because i want to continue breastfeeding SO BAD!! i miss it so much. i still read this forum everyday and even though i am not the ‘ideal’ breastfeeding mom….i am going to continue with it really soon and i CANNOT WAIT!! i just hope she can handle it and doesn’t have her crying fits anymore…….we shall see….just one more week…i’m so excited!

The one thing I will truely miss when we move back to the US in Sept is the acceptance of BFing in public. I even see the difference between on base and off base. If I BF (under my baby balboa cover) at the food court in the BX no one will sit near me, they will stare and whisper, very disturbing. Today we took our daughter to the zoo, quite a bit away from the American base we are stationed at. So refreshing that no one even blinked at me, a few women even smiled at me, and one asked where I got my cover. here in the UK and just europe in general there is not the same stigma about BFing in public as there is in the US.
