I really want to get back on the Atkins diet because it is the only thing that ever worked for me to lose weight but I don’t know if a high protein low carb diet is safe while breastfeeding??? Does anyone know?? thanks

thanks anniemarie. i pumped 12 oz at work today and wondered if that was normal. that is what i give the babysitter for the next day (three 4oz bottles) so it works out great. I don’t have to use my frozen supply. Yesterday i only got 7.5oz when i was at work. my supply changes so much it drives me nuts.

Kebler98 thank you! I struggle to get that much. My pump isnt all that great as its a few years old & I have to pump one side at a time to have enough suction. In the morning I get so frustrated. LOs last feeding is usually around 9-9:30 pm and I go all night with out pumping. At 6am I pump my left side and only get 1-2 oz AFTER ALL NIGHT. My LO nurses from the right side. If it weren’t for that 1-2 oz in the morning I dont know what i’d do but i just dont understand why that morning pump yeilds so little. My left side is a low producer during the day to. i only get 3-4 oz from it all day. I always hesitate putting my LO on that side in fear there isnt enough!

i hope its som!i thing simple like that. i use to only have to supplement 1 feeding now it takes atleast 2 times pumping to get one feeding for him. Its starting to upset me, i added an extra pumping session today and nothing didnt help at all!

Hi all- I am so worried about my LO. She has been up every 30 minutes at night usually until about 2pm when she finally sleeps till 5 or 6. I know she is missing her Mommy time. She only ate 2 oz of formula this morning too. I am giving her two to three bottles of frozen milk (sometimes smell a little like tin (does that mean its bad?) I think I have enough left for another week or so. Then she is strickly formula which breaks my heart. Her poopie has changed to a dark brown color and when she eats from the bottle she tends to push it away a lot. She has been eating from a bottle at the babysitters since she was 3mo. I don’t know what is going on!

DJs Girl – Makes more sense. Kekoa was in school (I worked) for his first year. So, he had bottles but around seven months he started refusing them completely. So, we switched to only sippy cups which somewhat worked. He never drank enough from them in the beginning. But, by a year he was drinking from them fine and nursing at home with me. We didn’t introduce cow’s milk until about 14months. Now he drinks milk a couple times a day and nurses when he wants too which isn’t much lately. He really wants it first thing in the morning but he’s been going to bed without it. I’m down to one nursing session a day. He’s almost 21months and I’m 16weeks pregnantt with the next one so I’m fine with him weaning himself now.

I am in the same boat with my LO. It’s towards the end of a feeding when she starts to look around, and try to pull my nipple with her. I will give her 2 or three chances, and every time she pulls my nipple I tell her ‘ouch’ and wait a few seconds until I give it back. After three times though I take it away and cover up. I’m hoping it won’t take long for her to connect that pulling on it gets it taken away…cause it sure is painful!

try Mylicon. They even have an off brand one at Wal Mart same stuff (Simethicone) if its too spendy. I burp 1/2 way through feeding for gas, I can tell when my LO has a burp because she gets fussy and ‘sloppy’

Okay, so my 3 1/2 month DD has started giving me a hard time when she’s tired and hungry and I try to feed her while sitting. As far as I can tell, she just wants to lay down to feed. She doesn’t do it all the time, maybe once a day on average, but I’m not sure what to do. It’s no biggy to lay down to feed her, but not very practical when we’re out and about. I actually prefer to feed her laying down and maybe she can tell? She gets so upset when I try to feed her sitting when she doesn’t want to!! Anyways, not a huge problem, but kind of frustrating. Anybody deal with something similar or have any tips? Thanks!
