I’ve not heard about getting the whooping cough vaccine but probably won’t get any vaccines that aren’t required. As it is now I’m skipping both the Hep B and the chicken pox vaccine until Isaac is older. However, if you are not getting the vaccine for whooping cough and are getting it for everything else, you run the same risks for whooping cough as someone not getting any vaccines period. Each vaccine is specific for each illness, so if you’re not vaccinated for it then you run the risk. I’d be curios to know the exact numbers on that risk though because it is important to remember each injection runs its own risks as small as that risk may be.

So I need some prayers for my oldest son’s new baby brother tonight. He is 1 month old, and at birth he had what they thought was a minor heart defect. Found out today that it is acutally a MAJOR defect, the valves from his heart to his brain and body are nearly completely blocked, and he should never have been released from hospital in the first place. he has just been flown to the Children’s hospital in Vancouver, and will probably be having open heart surgery in a few days. They are going to try a less invasive procedure first, but expect to have to do the surgery. There is a chance he may not make it. Damion is so worried for his little brother 🙁

What do you think is making her wake up? Total respect to anyone working full time and bf. I can imagine it gets very exhausting having to get up to pump and work. Rant away thats what we are here for. I’m lucky don’t return to work until Ollie is 9 months, then its only 2 days. 8.30 to 5. We were trying to work out whether I could afford to be a sahm the other day, unfortunaly we can’t bit upset about that.

I wish I had a massage voucher. I got a massage when I was 16 weeks pregnant….ahhhhhhh. And he was cute! I called my mom and told her I was in love… her response? ‘Yeah, I fell in love during a massage once too. It’ll pass.’ LOL! Enjoy!

It is cute listening to him. We’re learning about time. Yesterday he heard a truck and thought it was Daddy’s Jeep. I told him two more hours. He said, ‘oh’ with a confused look. So we went to the digital clock and I told him when the 4 turns to a 6 Daddy will be almost home. HAHA! He sat staring at the 4 for about 20 minutes. Every once in a while he’d look back at me and say, ‘no no, mama, it’s not 6.’

I remember being in the hospital with Chris and my MIL was helping me try and latch him. HAHA! She’s seen just about every part of me. Oh well! It helps to have someone with experience. With two kids she breastfed for 6 years of her life. I’m almost on 3 now. HAHA!

Styx- Come to think of it she did just start the mini pill. I didnt even think of that. I know they say that it is safe but I know different people react differently. Lisa- Thank you for that. I am going to pass this along to her. I was also thinking that it could possibly be that he is going through a growth spurt? I think it’s around 6 weeks that they do. I am just trying to encourage her. I dont want to pressure her because I really have no place but I thought I would offer a little wisdom from you ladies 🙂

pinkish – A lot of eczma is caused by wheat gluton. Starting solids usually makes it worse. I’m surprised your doctor didn’t tell you that?

Lan, 4 hours max at room temp. Some milk goes before that though. 8 hours in a cooler, up to a week in the fridge, a few months in the freezer and a year in the deep freeze. Again, it depends on your milk. Mine spoils a lot faster then some. Oh and if your baby has drank from it then 1 hour is the rule.

Phatbaby – it took 5 days for mine to come in this time. I don’t know if it had something to do with being induced? I have heard it can take longer after a C section too. Maybe the hormones take a bit to kick in if labour isn’t spontaneous? I just kept nursing even though I don;t think there was anything there and it came eventually.

My 5 month old doesnt sleep threw the night. It started because she was said to have VLCADD (those who dont know what it is. her body doesnt break down food right. Similar to diabettes in reverse so low blood sugar ) tests are still inconclusive if she does or not but her genetic speacilist has me feed every 3 hrs. Altho i just now starting lettin her sleep longer and a lot of the time she will start off with 4 or 5 hours then ever 2 or 3 so its getting much better
