Ollie has stopped doing bm’s during the night now I only change if it feels full of wee. I also use nappy cream to keep rash away, neither of mine have ever had a rash. Only recently stopped nappy cream on James because I have to change his nappy so quickly before he runs off!

anxiousmami – Back in the day I had a friend have a doctor tell her to flick her son’s cheek lightly. Her children are my age so that tells you how long ago this way. HAHA! Anyways, Jordon started crying and never went back to the breast. He would scream any time you would put him near it. It killed her. She couldn’t believe she caused this. You don’t want to associate pain with breastfeeding.

So I’m pretty sure I’ve figured out what it was that almost caused me to lose my supply completely 3 months ago when I had a bad cold. I don’t know why I didn’t look it up then, but I did yesterday on kellymom.com and I’m sure it was the pseudoephedrine in the Tylenol sinus meds I was taking. What an idiot! I’m so thankful we were able to recover from that but what a dumb thing to do. *sigh* live and learn

Okay so I was reading on whooping cough real quick. I think most of us have had our babies vaccinated for it. Whooping cough is also known as pertussis. The vaccine is typically given as a combo vaccine called the Tdap. The first dose is given at the 2 month appointment.

2ndtimemommmy – I’m so sorry! Are they going to WA or BC? I don’t know much about WA’s Children’s. The Seattle one is awesome but I’m not sure about Vancouver’s. I hope all goes well. Must be very scary.

enum – I think I’ll be in the same boat as you when we TTC again. I’m not sure which route I’ll end up taking though. On the one hand I would hate to take nursing away from Alyssa… she loves it so much. On the other hand, tandem nursing sounds daunting! Ultimately, I think it’s a personal preference and you should do what your heart tells you. If tandem is out of the question, then you need to decide if you’re ready to wean so you can TTC or wait and let your LO wean on his own then TTC. As far as the prev. comment…. being honest and being rude can be achieved concurrently. There are ways to be honest and tactful enough to get your opinion across. By the way, you didn’t offend me. Everyone has their rights to their opinions and I’m always open to other peoples POV’s but hypocrisy is just a HUGE pet peeve of mine! I didn’t think it right to rip on people for doing the exact same thing you are doing. But that’s the last I’ll speak of it. We’re all here to lend/give support to one another.

benbubby- my lo is 3 mos old and she’s the same as your baby. try to swaddle at night. that’s what we do although she doesn’t like it. but it has to be done so we both can get some sleep.

Katie has figured out that if I won’t pick her up and put her on the couch, all she has to do is sign that she wants to nurse and I’ll pick her up and then once she’s up, she can escape onto the couch anyways! Sneaky sneaky! She’s also figured out that she can use the sign for ‘water’ to get water or watermelon. Kids are too smart and I can only imagine how much smarter they get the older they get! 🙂

If I am it’ll cause a fight between hubby and I. I had just talked him into a third but we both agreed to wait until Chris is in school so I can have more time and relaxing. That’s why I was shooting to start trying next August. Ugh! I am not going to enjoy this conversation if I am. So, I’m praying that I am not! Another reason I don’t want to test because if it is positive then I’ll actually have to have this conversation. I’m chickening out.

Thanks Bri 🙂 I know I appreciate your words, and they have helped me through tough times… I am kinda glad that I didn’t find this site untill now though, cause I felt every bit the horrible mother having to FF my 1st. I eventually worked through it and was able to realize that I was still the best Mommy I could be, but, had I recieved critisism at that time I would have internalized everything and probably ended up a single mom by now! lol For what it is worth, I spent the 1st 3 mos of my DS life in bed, my Hubby would bringhim to me when he needed to be fed, and I would have to lay there once I was done and listen to them playing and laughing… It was heartbreaking.. I needed to have back surgery and so I felt that I had to make the choice of nourishing my child with my milk or with my love. So I went on some pretty heavy pain killers untill my

chellebob- good luck with the thrush! From what i’ve heard you have to keep everything clean.. pacifiers, bras, anything that touches the baby’s mouth or your nipples. Also make sure you both get medication.
