Kez-I usually only get that amount as well. I’ve been storing up, literally ounce by ounce, for daycare. That way I can send the weeks supply on monday, and pump at work. She’s four months old, I’m going to leave enough for 5 ounces at 9, 12, and 3. Should be enough time to pump if you have a good pump.

torybailey – My stomach is the only way I am ever comfortable lying down and it has never affected by supply. My son is almost a year.

mountainmama – I’m on that forum too! I love it because they are all actovates. But, that page has gotten a lot of media attention and therefore lots of trolling. Often you’ll get idiots that say those things or worse. They will put breastfeeding in the same catagory as sex, urinating and deficating. It’s so stupid! So, the admins tend to delete them and move on.

This is Alex last week, riding Brother’s bike. He’s 7 1/2 months.

I used the pump-in-style and worked it to death! Needed replacement tubing a couple of times but customer service sent it to me for free. I always used the medela bottles my son liked them the best and they were the easiest since you pumped right into them. I used the entire Medela line the whole time I was breastfeeding and loved it (freezing bags, nursing pads, etc…). BabiesRUs also runs discounts on Medela products and the line is also available at Target.

Since we are on the solid’s topic…I’ve started my lo about two weeks ago. He is 5 months today. Anyhow, I’ve since introduced pears and bananas. Next I plan to introduce sweet potatoes. My question is I know I don’t want to give him too much solids and reduce his milk intake. How do I juggle all the new solids that I’m introducing with cereal? As of right now I prepare a TBLS of rice cereal with BM and a TBLS of what ever I have newly introduced. He might eat a quarter of that before he gets bored with it. Anyhow, as he gets more interested in eating but before he turns 6 month am I suppose to just do one food with cereal at a time or will it hurt to do two with cereal or leave out the cereal. I just really don’t know. Anyhow help would be great if this posting isn’t as confusing as I am confused.

Yes my son loves to breastfed. It’s been very difficult to get him to accept solid foods b/c of this. He throws a fit from the time I put the bib on him until I give up and take it off him. He is simply holding out. He also does this with his last bottle at daycare. He only takes the bare minimum to tide him over on his last bottle (and only his last. He’s smart like that.) and then waits for me. I have a feeling unless something drastic changes I’ll be nursing him until he’s to embarrassed to nurse.

Lorelaismom – I must be a milk machine, haha! Because the more I pump the more it will flow. When he wakes sometimes he’s choking on the milk and he’ll brake the seal and milk is just spraying out all over, LOL! But my boobs are never engorged, they feel like they did before I got pregnant. But yes, I am a little nutty w/the pumping! I love to have a supply for a few drinks at night, or going to the store. Oh, plus DJ is a barracuda baby, I don’t know if that has anything to do with it either…

Hi I haven’t posted in quite a while bc my baby is 13months today! Anyway we have started to wean as of two days ago and it’s bittersweet. She actually has nursed at all but I have been pumping twice a day just in case. She doesn’t act like she wants to nurse but out of habit puts her hand down my blouse. I just need a little support and would appreciate any advice. This is a great website and I have followed since I got pregnant in 2008! Thanks in advaance:)

i figure the weight will come off…and i really shouldn’t complain…i’m back in my pre-pregnancy jeans, i’ve always been small and petite…but i am eating HUGE amounts! i was wondering if i had a worm or something that way i’m eating! i’m like a bottomless pit! we went to my MIL last night for dinner and i ate as much as my husband! i’m not really eating junk, and i’m so snowed in and far from fast food that i can’t remember the last time we had that (we have 52 inches of snow outside…and i’m in Maryland!!!)…i don’t know what is up with all this! i can eat a bag of carrots in 2 days! and i cucumber on my own!

I was wondering how you can TTC without knowing your cycle, too?? Different reasons, though. Lol. I’m not 100% sure my periods have returned, and have no intention of getting pregnant yet (it’s only been two-months!!), but I have this overwelming broody feeling… It’s stronger then during the two-years we TTC… I can’t shake it off, and don’t want to begin TTC ’til her first birthday… But this broody feeling is rreally strong. Lol.

LUV: yes, most docs say after 11 months it’s okay, I’m sure 1 week is not a big deal! Good for you for nursing for so long, happy early birthday to your LO!!

same here, Bri! I know it’s silly, but you were on here when i first came on and then stopped coming on as frequently (I guess when your 1st son weaned) but then came back when your 2nd was born, and i noticed the absence! hahaha It’s nice to know that there are people out there that are so loving their children and loving BF like I am!

PGfirstTimer- I go to a breastfeeding support group and there is a boy who is 13mons doesn’t take to solids. His main nutrition is still breastmilk and he’s even in the 85%tile and healthy at his 12mons exam! I say start when baby is eager.
