For those who are breast feeding…Have any of you gotten your AF back? I am just so confused. My AF came for the first time in June (11th) and now I am 5 days late now. (Expected AF July 8) I had one postive HPT on July 4th but since then All BFN’s and no AF. So confused. Please Help me come up with ideas on why this is happening. BFN this morning too. I am going on my 7th month of breastfeeding.

Hey all! I just HAD to share this with people who will actually realize how great this is and how hard we had to work to get it! My twin girls will be 7 weeks old tomorrow; they have been home from the hospital only 2 weeks (they were born @ 33 weeks). I have been pumping and bottle feeding as they were unable to eat when born and had to be tube fed, and bottle fed thereafter because they were too weak to nurse. I made a goal for myself that I would start to get them on the breast exclusively around their due date of Nov 10. We have been practicing at least once a day since they came home, but it has been hard as they did not want the boob eating a bottle is so much easier!! Just yesterday at their 2 o’clock feeding, I was able to get both nursing at the same time! How freaking amazing!!! They were both staring at me, eating their lunch, making the SAME little sighs as they drank It was so emotional, I cried a little. Then daddy came in from shoveling and we both just sat on the bed and watched this beautiful process occur. The best part: Not ONE Bottle Since!!! We have been struggling for so long, I am so proud of my girls, and I think mommy did pretty well too! I am going to try SO hard to keep this going… Wish me luck for the day!!!

angie2008 – This happened to me back when Kekoa was biting me. I pumped bright pink milk and had to dump it. It was weird because I noticed the blood at about two ounces. After dumping it I had to finish pumping and got ‘clear’ milk. I didn’t have any noticable cracks/cuts/bite marks but they were there. If you have been sore then it can happen. If it becomes frequent then I’d start to wonder and call the doctor. Good Luck! I feel your pain. I just about died when I had to pour two ounces down the drain!

Season greetings everyone…. was just wondering for those who are breastfeeding and giving their babies solids how many breastfeeds per day approx are they having? My lil girl is 7.5mths and i went to the health nurse and my lil girl is 7kg and average weight is 8kg for her age so the nurse wanted me to give her solids before a breastfeed.. so if she has food before milk she’d be having like 4 breastfeeds a day(if feeding every 4 hours) does that sound about right?

M.M.Masi – They do say milk pools in Baby’s mouth and the sugar rots teeth. The best way is to nurse, brush the teeth and then off to bed. I’m the pot calling the kettle black though. Kekoa brushes his teeth after tubby but then we nurse and off to bed. Up until a few weeks ago he was also getting up several times during the night to nurse. I think genetics also helps with teeth. I was awful when I was little about brushing my teeth and I didn’t have a cavity until I was 18. My mom also nursed me to sleep until I was 2. I also got up several times a night until I was 18months. I’m hoping Kekoa follows in my shoes…

As for bras. I have 38DDs and I LOVE Target bras. I have medella as well but the latches undo! Four clasps and they ease themselves off. I couldn’t believe it. Target bras are less then $15 and work awesome. Medella is more towards $40. I wear through the Target bras though. I guess through lots of wear and milk stains earily on can do it. I don’t blame the bras but the wear and tear.

angie- I was the only one at my job with an infant. I also worked with mostly men. If I were alone I would just tell them I was shutting my door. Usually they would turn red and leave me be. If I had someone in my office I would tell them I had a private matter to attend to and ask them to wait in the sales room. As far as employees go, I would just say ‘I need to shut my door’. Only they knew what it meant so if we had customers, they didn’t have a clue. I have also told people I had a personal matter to take care of. Either way, one people figure it out, they’ll kinda know your schedule and won’t even ask any questions when you excuse yourself. 🙂

Oh, and I want to add that I LOVE BREASTFEEDING! haha. I’ve started to freeze milk and I have over 30oz already. I’m loving it. 🙂

Mellie – Sorry, I’ve been sick and not on the computer. Yes I took Reglan and it messed me up. It made me anxious. I would sit at work shaking. This was after only one day. It was awful. I know people that it works just fine with but not everyoe. Try it but watch for anxiety and depression. I didn’t have depression, thank God, but the anxiety was something awful. Good Luck!

micky-you have to watch for pseudoepedrine and phenylephrine (sp?) These can cause your baby’s heartrate to go up. Anything that has a ‘drying’ agent such as Benadryl does will lower your supply. Most pharmacists are willing to help and tell you what is safe. I haven’t found much. Also, the pediatrician can tell you. They typically have a manual of what is safe. Good luck. Hope you feel better!

EVERYONE! my milk is fine! my problem is solved! i put a box of baking soda in the freezer last night and this morning i opened a bag and smelled it and it was normal! no yucky smell! obviously it wasn’t like oh my gosh this is the best smell in the world it smells soooooo good, but the bad smell wasn’t there! so i only ended up dumping like 4-5 bags after all that mess, but at least i know! so moral of the story: if you have milk in the freezer please either put it in the deep freezer right away or make sure to add a box of baking soda to get rid of all odors! today all my milk is going into the deep freezer and i’m putting hte box of baking soda in there too just to be safe! what a relief! i’m so happy i could jump up and down! (and i just might have after i found out, lol!)

Thanks for the advice ladies. I am pumping every 3 – 4 hours for about 15 minutes. Like I said, I didn’t have any problems before yesterday….. The lactation consultant at the hospital recomended that I pump to let my nipples heal. Everytime he would nurse I would feel so guilty because he would get some of my blood from the reopening of the crack. Now it is both nipples… He was doing really well at nursing, with the exception of the latch. I was going to try to pump until healed, but now I am just worried about my supply. I don’t want him to not get enough. Bj4 – I was wearing the cotton type sleep bra and was fine with the milk production, then I switched to the ‘prettier’ motherhood bra. This is when it all changed. I only slept in the more supportive bra for 1 night and this happened. Wow. I think I will go back to just nursing if it helps with the flow. I just feel bad for him. The consultant said it was ok if he got a little blood, it just might make him spit up a little. Cross your fingers!!

anniemarie – I totally agree. That’s awesome! When I was working I would visit my son on my lunch hour. I also pumped in the morning and afternoon. If I could have popped in to nurse during those times too I would have been completely happy! You shoudn’t have any problem with supply. You are pumping a good amount as it is so I would assume your baby will be getting a lot more. That’s truly awesome and I think you should go for it!
