t’s true, the fermentation process releases the enzymes or something like that. I’ve eaten oatmeal cookies, breastmilk cookies, regular oatmeal and so forth and nothing! Anyone says that the fermentation process isn’t needed it either getting a little result from the oats and hasn’t tried fermenting or doesn’t know what they are talking about. HAHA! Like Leslie said, she does a cup a day. I did a half cup twice a day. Mix old fashion oats with the same part water. Let it sit on the counter uncovered for at least 7 hours. I have no idea where that number comes into play. Over night is perfect. The water will have absorbed into the oats. Just pop it into the microwave to heat it and then eat it. You can add ice cream, maple syrup, brown sugar or whatever floats your boat to it. It tastes just like regular oatmeal….just more chewy and slimy. HAHA! Within a week I had doubled my pumping output and so did my sister. Below shows Leslie’s increase. It really works. As for fenugreek, it works but not like this. And, it’s expensive. For a bottle of 100 it’s like $10 at the grocery. When you are taking 15 a day then you are going through a bottle a week. I’d take the $5 of oatmeal over $40 of fenugreek a month anyday.

April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6921682HAPPY WORLD BREASTFEEDING WEEK! In my state of Connecticut to celebrate they are having an event at our capital park. All breastfeeding mothers are encouraged to come to the rose garden at 11:50am and be ready to nurse at Noon. They are hoping to brake our state record for most mother’s nursing at one time in one area! I have to work, so will be missing out. But it’s all over our radios and news stations. It’s so nice to bring awarness!
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6921938jmuncy – That’s awesome. Every second counts!!! Keep it up.
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6922194Tiffany. definately kick the habit now before teeth come in. If he’s gnawing on you then he isn’t actively nursing. Better to do it now then before he bites down with teeth and causes damage. Ok, not really damage but cuts, blood, etc…no fun.
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6922450Scarlet, that’s awesome! Way to go!
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6922706I know ladies. Just trying to do just that. It’s hard that I’m crampy on my right side just like with Alex. No sickness yet though so we shall see. The cramps were what made me think a period was coming but that was a week ago. oing by the ONE time we had sex it would be 1 month now so maybe I’ll get one.
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6922962I’m 7 days PP and Bfing. I have two questions – first is simple and silly – what is EBF? Is it extended bfing or exclusive bfing? Not sure what extended would mean…. But I am exclusively bfing and it’s going fairly well. My husband really wants me to pump to have a supply just in case and for some reason I’m scared to try it. Sounds backwards! My question is when is a good time to try (I have an electric Modela) and learn how to use it? Right after a feeding? Right before? Somewhere in between? Right now we are mostly feeding one breast per feeding…although he is starting to want more. My milk came in two-three days ago and I’m not nearly as engorged as I was the first day…. Thanks!!!!
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6923218baby723 – I would pump every 3 hours and now I pump every 4 hours. But yes, whenever Alyssa is eating at home I’m pumping at work.
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6923474My LO’s pediatrician is awesome! She is certified as a lactation consultant and encourages to EBF! I gave her a pic of Leyla to put in a bulletin board with her other patients and she put a little note that said ‘breastfed baby’ so that people would see how healthy a bf baby looks… So cute!
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6923730lol I was snuggling with Zoey’s dad last night while he slept and I watched tv. He had his hand on my lower stomach and I was zoning out. Then I felt a twitch and it freaked me out! lol. It felt just like the early kicks! I had to mentally reassure myself that I am NOT pregnant (IUD still in place!) but aaaaaah. It was a terrifying feeling. lol. I couldn’t tell him what was up because he got all weird when I randomly took a hpt a few weeks ago just to be sure and I don’t want him to start holding out on sex. But with his twins and our Zoey…we don’t want any more little ones! Still. Weird feeling.
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6923986Scarlet, if I knew then what I do now I would not have had a section at all. I had terrible PUPPS and it ruined me. I was oozing and bleeding. Horrible. An induction didn’t work and I was going to be sent home. I should have!!! I wish I had!!! But I was tired from not sleeping, crying from the itchy burning pain and anxious to see my first born. The meds did it to me! The second time around I wanted a VBAC but at almost 42weeks, a HUGE baby and high blood presssure my doctor said we need to get him out. IF I hadn’t had the previous section it wouldn’t be like that. I would have been able to continue to wait. This time was much easier though. I had a spinal and no other meds. I checked out within 24hours of birth. I knew what I was doing and got him latched on asap. I would like a VBA2C but we’ll see. I still would love to have a all natural hypno-birthing. It was what I wanted the first time around, even more the second time and now I’m sad I haven’t.
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6924242amanda: yeah, it definitely takes your body sometime to get back to normal…especially since you are still BF, it will probably not be back to normal until a little while after you are done, but everyone is different, so it depends! My LO is 10 months and I have yet to get my period back (thank goodness!!)
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6924498casen- have you tried unlatching her? I am still breastfeeding at 17 months(woot woot!) and we have been co-sleeping the entire time. When he was really little, before he could roll, he was in a co-sleeper in our bed. Anyway, I always did the ‘limp wrist’ test. You pick up baby’s arm and if the wrist is limp they are sleeping deep enough you can usually unlatch them and move away…I always roll on my back and scooch DS over so he is lying on his back right next to me. Although, getting them used to sleeping in their crib is always a good thing! Good luck!
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6924754So everyone always says how bf gives babies a boost in their immune system. It must be very true for in the 5 months ive had been sick 3 times and my oldest has been sick 2. each times the oldest was she past it to me and dh but my 5 month old has never been sick when we all got it or anything π
