Hate it where they do the continuous feeding and feels like they have chomped on it by not latching properly.

Emilee–lol thats so funny! My son is 6 and so BF around him at first I wouldn’t or I’d cover up while feeding then I realized that was not that way to let him know it’s a good thing. So now I just pull the boob out when he’s around like it’s nothing. At first I didn’t like it because he’d stare but he didn’t know any better. Now it’s the normal thing and when hes with his friends and the baby is fussy he tells them ‘ My mom feeds the baby with milk from HER BOOBS!’ lol

Ladies, make sure you buy the old fashion oats. Quaker makes them and there is usually a store brand like Kroger as well. You’ll find it in the cereal aisle.

scarlet-do you have a freezer supply at all? i did and i still always felt panicky whenever i was having to pull from it instead of being able to pump enough fresh for that day. it turns out i had exactly enough to make it to one year. his last day at daycare as an 11 month old i pulled his last freezer bag out and thawed it. it was really bitter sweet. anyhow the point i’m getting at is all that panic was for nothing. if i had just trusted my bodies ability from the beginning it would have all worked out. oh and isaac did/does his own version of reverse cycling. it isn’t too bad but i do co-sleep and there are/were definitely nights that he wore me down waking me up so often. i never could pump at night b/c of it. i pumped in the morning first thing instead. that’s why i now have all this free time.

I feel blessed that I was a good pumper (even though now I don’t have to). I remember the stress of pumping and I always got at least 4oz in each pump. I can’t imagine only getting 2 at a time. You ladies are awesome for doing that.

seuban0 – I completely agree. It made me sick. Had a wonderful time out and came back to that. I even wrote about how pissed I was on FB. I’m still riled up about it! HAhA! I need to relax and maybe take a bath and go to bed. I can’t though.

Because there are no good doctors around here! I live in TheMiddleOfNowhere, PA and there are like 2 pediatricians within 45 minutes, and the other one is no better. I’m telling you, i really have to move to Seattle!!

Mjs – Sounds like reflux. My son had/has it. It’s not a big deal as long as baby is gaining weight and the spitting up isn’t projectile and doesn’t seem to bother the baby. It’s just a mess! It doesn’t have anything to do with being EBF. My ped said it’s worse with FF babies. Just mention it at the next doctor’s appointment.

phatbaby – I read so much on EVERYTHING while I was pregnant. I found nothing in the breastfeeding sections or bf books that indicated to bf around the clock for the first few days. Later, when I started going to BF groups, I found that many women exp. the same thing. I found it kind weird that this happens often, but I hadn’t even read about it or come across it in all the research I had done. What was even more odd is that the LC’s at the hosp. didn’t tell me…. or the doctors, or the pedi’s…. At least now I know for next time and so glad Alyssa is healthy and happy! 🙂
