I was thinking the same thing as esyogurl! It sounds like over-active letdown.

PGFirstTimer – I’m right there with you but mine is a milk blister again – ouch!! These things seriously hurt like hell.

Cluster feeding is a common sign of a growth spurt. He’s telling your body he is growing and to make more milk. I cosleep so I can’t really help with the sleeping situation.

Andrea-Nicole – have you tried mixing it with some breastmilk? Or using it in a baby smoothie?

Thanks Ladies! That really makes me feel good. As you all know I struggled in the beginning with my first. He had no suction reflex and didn’t even have the urge to be hungry. He literally would not cry if he was hungry. This site helped me out so much that I feel that I need to help others as well. You know I thought about seeing what it takes to be a LC. But, I’m so consumed with my boys that it might be something in the future. Maybe after the boys are in school. I do want to go back to work ‘part time’ after all my babies are in school. Something that I can work while they are in school and be able to be off for when they are home. We’ll see what happens.

mrsmom- i also don’t give vitamins (Ella is almost 9 months old, though i might start them if the dr says to at her 9 month appointment.) And we didn’t start cereal or any other solids until 6 months and didn’t really get going on them until well into the 7th month. I really don’t recommend giving it before then, and like someone else said it is so much more of a hassle then just BF!

i got sample packets of astroglide when i went back for my 6 week pp checkup. when i brought it home dh laughed and said that the midwife who caught isaac used a ton of the stuff when i was delivering. it certainly helped on both fronts. i didn’t tear and it certainly got things moving in the bedroom too.

tiffado, baby will only ever need 1-1.5 oz per hour. That never changes because your milk changes instead. After 6mo, if you start solids the amount of milk needed might decrease a bit, but the amount will never increase. 🙂

childless friends no matter how old or young will never understand what it’s like to be a mother. over the last year i have all but lost contact with my best good friend. she likes to go do things that i can’t possibly do with my little man. she’s making tons of new friends now that share her current interest which is good but it does exclude me. oh well she went through a divorce as i got pregnant so i think among other things me and my little family reminds her of the happiness she could have had if her husband hadn’t had been an ass. i was friends with her ex-husband first and we had went on a trip together to europe the same year they ended up divorcing, so i can certainly see why it would hurt. plus they had planned in december to try to concieve.

My only real struggle right now is gassiness, and having people tell me to put gripe water in his bottle. At which point I explain he is not getting bottles yet, then i am told by women that their baby never got nipple confusion from offering bottles… Umm, well this is my baby and I don’t want to risk it! Obviously I am active duty military, I have to go back to work at 6 weeks, and I will offer a bottle at 4 or 5 weeks to get him adjusted before he has to go to daycare. That is soon enough in my opinion, I am just tired of people trying to tell me what to do, this is not my first go-around with BFing and I know what I am doing! Rant over, thanks for listening!

military~mommy – Not offended. I am as green as I can be. I wish I used cloth but I’m addicted to my diapers. I’m also a little lazy for EC. But everything else I do. I bed-share, baby wear, breastfeed, organic foods only (even doing my own garden) ,etc.
