Sometimes i get shooting sharp pains in my breasts at any given time. Very random. Its not the milk coming in- that is a very different feeling. Anyone else have periodic sharp shooting pains?

anniemarie: Thanks so much for your kind words. It helps a lot to think of it as a team thing and if she is not feeding then i cant do it on my own. Thanks for saying that, I am ok with giving her a bottle as she is more than happy to take it but i am feeling really down about stopping breastfeeding. I dont feel regret or anything just almost depressed and its only been a day. I havent had a letdown at all and stopped taking the motilium yesterday and only had to pump last night. One side i got almost nothing and only 80mls from the mastitis side. I guess it is just my time but as she is my 3rd baby and i wasnt able to feed my other 2 kids i am so proud that we made it to 9 months and i have a beautiful healthy girl to thank for it.

once your af returns after giving birth it is regular right away?? got my first af in the beginning of april and was due yesterday. still no signs, but loads of cramping yesterday and none today. Is it normal to not be regular when af returns. Was very normal before I got prego if that has anything to do with it.

bri, that is why I am trying to wean by the second trimester. I don’t want her to stop and not have access to any thing nutrious! My supply is way low ( I only pump like 3-4 oz a day ) and we still nurse about 6 times a day, so it has been rough on me. Congrats on the pregnancy! If you think about it, we are both feeding three people. Kinda crazy huh? Maybe that is why I have been sooo tired.

i usually pump int he mornings before my daughter wakes up. well today I pumped upstairs as we had company sleeping downstairs and didn’t want to wake them. I pumped about 5 oz and i put in on the nightstand to take down stairs in a little. I totally forgot about it and went out for the entire day and I go upstairs and the milk is still there. Sucks that i just wasted 5 oz of milk! grrrrr

Natasha – ironically most of the herbs and things recommended to increase supply are aimed at the digestive track so that is not all that surprising!

samantha-sounds like she just isn’t ready. That’s okay. Give it a little break…some babies just aren’t ready, even at 6 months. Wait a week or two and try again. I would suggest that you try mixing bm with whatever you give her next too. And, have you thought of making your own food? She might like the taste of carrots or green beans if you make it yourself and mix in bm with it. Thin it out…way out with bm. Good luck. Your doing great. Sometimes family just doesn’t get it 🙂

Rissa-I’ve tried every paci I could find. My lo only take the green soothies. I had to hold it in his mouth for him at first but now he’s getting better, but sometimes he’ll grab my hand when I give it to him so I’ll keep holding it. It’s just so stinking cute! Nikki-if your lo is young it’s absolutely normal. The baby is just building your supply for you. My lo is 16 weeks and will still do it from time to time but not every day.

felicia some of the cracking could be the weather changing so keep it up on the lanolin. With the clogged duct just nurse nurse nurse. They say to aim baby’s chin toward the clog if you can. Also keep doing the heat. When I had mine I would use a heat pad about 15 min before I nursed. I also did this method when i had mestitus so if you think its headed that way it should work too. If you have a pump then once a day maybe after your LO has gone to bed use a heat pad and then see what a power pump does. Maybe it will finish unclogging that duct. Motrin helps with the pain too. If you don’t think its resolving in a few more days I would go get it checked out.
