April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6910184I think breastmilk is better for longer periods of time than 1 hour. In my experience anyway if he doesnt finish a bottle I put it back in the refrigerator and give the rest to him next feeding. Hvae never had a problem. I do change the nipple though because of the potential bacteria. If I am thawing milk from the freezer however, I make sure he gets it all in one sitting.
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6910440yesterday morning I pumped 9 oz so I knew today I had enough in there to breastfeed all day and I was off work so had all day to dink around. well my baby didn’t want me. I did get him to suck but had to walk and hold him to get him to do it. and had several crying fits too. I patiently kept putting him back on. my husband just got home and made him give baby a soy bottle so it wouldn’t be from me. it there a way any of u have eased baby back on breast once u were flowing? here I thought I’d have a whole day of bonding at the breast and it was a scream fest instead and battle of the wills. he seems to want it to just run down his throat now. any ideas or been through this plz answer on my site tx
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6910696MyAloma and Kelly – Do not supplement. Take it from me, I’m nursing twins 4 months now. Your body will produce what you rbaby needs. But if your baby is not nursing then your body doesn’t know to produce more. I know it’s tiring to feed every hour but if i did it with 2 i’m sure you can do it. Just dedicate yourself and time to the baby. Don’t worry about the house or laundry or the like just sleep when they sleep and feed them when there hungry – It’ll help.
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6910952i got my period back at 14 weeks PP even though i am EBF, not everyone is lucky to have it stay away lol
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6911208ok, how do u increase your supply again? i can only pump 2 oz at a time from each breast and then there is nothing left to feed my baby. ive been having to pump a lot because we are leaving the baby with my mom tomorrow night so we can go out for new years.
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6911464Christy 114–No, that was not TMI! I have been BF for 9 months now. At 7 months (around Thanksgiving), I had my period for about 5 or 6 days, with a normal flow for my body. I was thrilled because before being pregnant, I had the most awful, awful cramps for about 12 hours of my first or second day of my cycle. Since Thanksgiving, I have not had another period. I have occasionally had some CM, more than an inch stretchy, usually clear, but sometimes cloudy. I am thinking that your CM is fertile CM. My guess is your body is trying to have enough mucus for when you ovulate in case a baby embryo is made! Your body may try to ovulate for awhile, but not have quite enough of the right conditions, and may then stop. It is so tricky after having a baby! We are TTC, but with breastfeeding, it is hard to know what will happen (I have taken a couple of pregnancy tests, but they are negative).
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6911720Cherub- I’d say the same thing when it was just females every once in a while or if I was talking to someone through email! The last month I swear I have become the cow, I don’t know how exclusive pumpers do it, I miss my lil guy too much!!! So thankful he doesn’t prefer the bottle!
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6911976michelle, i am going to try pumping again today, i dont really ever pump because i dont like it and i always feed my baby from my breast anyways. however, now i want to see how much milk she is actually getting. im anxious to see if these pills work too its supposed to take 24h – 3 days to increase supply. i have to go back again in about a week to check her weight again and hopefully she is gaining again. i just feel like ive done something wrong here. i dont want to add in any formula but i will if i have to. but i guess i am getting ahead of myself as we arent at that point. all i know is she was 8lbs 13oz when born, just under 8 when she came home and then started gaining again. at the beginning of jan when she had her first set of shots she was 11lbs and now at 4 months shes just under 10. i kept saying i was worried about her weight and how she was gaining and everyone kept saying oh shes fine she IS gaining. well look at her now. i mean she is happy for the most part and really healthy just way to small.
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6912232As for the pumps, I have the Pump in Style too, and I love it.
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6912488anniemarie- girl you have a good memory! i am giving grandmother two 5oz bottles & one 4 oz if i produce that much. Sometimes she ends up spitting up when they feed her the 5 oz. I think my LO still thinks she is hungry and when she gets too much it just comes back up.
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6912744anniemarie- i did not pump this weekend as i was at the grandparents all day Sat & church sunday. I nursed her the whole time. i will keep th formula as a last resort. maybe i will increase my pumping at home and my supply will come back. pumping for 15-20 mins after she nurses really doesn’t leave time for much of anything else & we must go to Walmart tonight for groceries! Always something to do. such a busy life!
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6913000I have 2 questions today i need help with.
1. How much do you ladies pump? Not after a feed but instead of a feed. Is 3-4 ounces good?
2. What are the symptoms when your baby reacts to chocolate? Emerson was up until 2am last night really unsettled and screaming when i put her down. She eventually fell asleep on my chest which she never does and i had to leave her there to sleep fopr half an hour before i could put her down successfully. I have eaten more chocolate than usual this past few days but she has never reacted to it before. And before the screaming she woke up and was SUPER over stimulated and hyperactive. Im wondering if it was the chocolate?April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6913256i never woke for a burp as a newborn, or now, even, if he nods off nursing.
April 12, 2016 at 12:00 am #6913512duskpoo- i am in the same boat. i lost 20 pounds fast. the other twenty is stuck. my lo is 6 months and i eat almost exactly what you described- no red meat, not much sugar but every now and again. it just won’t come off.
