When my son was about 6 wks he didn’t flinch when I vacuumed right next to him, or when loud noises happened. Of course he was alwasy sleeping when I was cleaning. When he was awake it was obvious to tell he could hear. If he wasn’t too concentrated on something he would get excited by music and his little mobile. I think it all depends on how concentrated they are on something when they’re awake and how sound asleep they are when they’re sleeping!

Is he gettng enough water? Does he do well with adult food? Try some foods that help with constipation like prunes, raisins, and grapes.

sherb- my son is almost 2 and still doesnt eat. its way frustrating but he went through the same things your little one is. hardly eats and i still havent found a way to get him to. i offer him food all the time. he will put it in his mouth and spit it back out., i dont understand how he gets anything out of it or why he doesnt actually eat it.

Ok I had picked a name for my son that was different but not weird and that not everyone named their kid. Will when I found the name I knew that was it!!! Well after I had my son in May 2008 I told my friend whoms sister became pregnant and was told my sons name and liked it so much she used it.. I am very annoyed by that I wanted to tell her find her own damn name but I am not a mean person I had spent a few months looking for the right name and she put no effort just took mine because there aren’t many babies with that name. Heck there was a couple my brother knows they named their son the same thing but I didn’t care because they searched the name and didn’t just take it from hearing it they have meaning behind it this girl just did it because she liked my sons name.. I just think its not right!!!! And needed to vent!!! I just don’t think you should take someone elses baby name you should go thru the same process put meaning behind the name, not oh I liked her sons name so I wanted to use it.. Am I crazy or do you agree???

    ****CRIB RECALL*****
NEWS CENTER) – A baby’s death has prompted a crib recall involving hundreds of thousands of units.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission is recalling about 635,000 ‘Dorel Asia’ cribs. There are 20 models, including both drop side and fixed side cribs.

The CPSC has more specific information on their website.

The issue was recalled after a six month old baby in Iowa was trapped in a crib. The drop side hardware broke and strangled the child. That is the only death. There are, however, reports of injuries and parents are urged to find another sleeping place for their children until the crib is replaced or a repair kit is received.

The cribs were sold at K-Mart, Sears, Wal-Mart and other stores. They cost between $120 and $700.

SherB – Best advice is not to stress. Breastmilk has everything she needs. The first year is for practice and that’s it. Just keep offering it. She’ll either eat it or she won’t. Have you tried foods other then cereal and baby food? Maybe something off of your plate like mashed potatos during dinner. Have her sit at the table for dinner and try it. Maybe also let her do it herself. She’s old enough that if you put some in front of her she might pick it up and eat some and like it. She may not like to be spoon fed. But anyways, let her lead you. She’ll let you know what she wants. If breastmilk is all she wants for now then so be it. I didn’t have any solids until I was over a year. I have no allergies, gast problems, etc. Most doctors will tell you it’s ok. You can’t force the child to eat. Just try different things.

My 7 month old = 20 lbs. When he was 3 months old I was still breast feeding and he was already 14 lbs. He’s perfectly healthy!
