FYI I was diagnosed with PCOS 3 years ago. I have concieved naturally twice now. I am not huge but I’m not skinny either. I TTC for 12 months before I had my daughter and 14 months with this one. I didn’t take Clomid or anything. Just patience. I don’t know perhaps I am just lucky. I get my period maybe 3 times a year.

Hi ladies..I’m back again!!! Ttc for baby number 2. I’ve been in the ttc forum for a while. I took a hpt (dollar store) and got a faint line. I decided to wait a few days and test again, and then got a bfp. Wait this week, and checked with my ob-gyn, and confirmed not prego. I’ve been getting all the signs of ovulation, prego, etc and nothing. My ob and I decided today, that I am going to need to do what I did last time to conceive my next baby. I’m already down, 16lbs. I started metformin today..500mg 1 time per day to start, then next week 2xs, then eventually 3xs, also, while bringing on a period using provera for about 3mths….if not pregnancy then I will use chlomid as before. So a lot going on. But as before, I’m determined to have this second baby. So I will stick this out even tho, metformin suks!

My current working dx is PCOS, but I don’t really fit. I am thin, and do have periods, but they varied between 30-47 days in length. I was on OCP for many many years, so didn’t know I had irregular periods. Plus, when I cam off of the OCP, I started having horrible acne on my chin. My fasting blood sugar is normal. Strong family history of diabetes though – my dad, his dad, his mom, and his brother. I always had a LH surge with ovulation monitoring, but couldn’t conceive naturally. Tried femara x 3 months, always had 1-2 mature eggs, but still no luck. Husband’s SA was totally normal. First month of femara + half dose gonal F and I am pregnant. It is early, so cross your fingers for me. The doc said that I have a 50/50 chance of twins b/c I had two mature eggs this month and my HCG tripled from day 15 to 17. Ultrasound in one week!

Hey….I have PCOS, my hubby and I tried for a baby for 2 and half years,I had all the tests, scans etc and we tried EVERYTYHING! All sorts of diets, I lost weight (which felt great!) and nothing. I was then put on clomid for 9 months. It affected me so badly, that I went into depression, my hormones were sky high and I was in a bad way. So much so, that I stopped taking them, and decided that it wasn’t going to happen. The minute I came off those awful drugs, I relaxed so much, I was so relieved to be back to my normal happy self again. And that’s when I got pregnant and had our son in Nov 07. So it can happen! We’re now trying for our 2nd but unfortunately I’ve recently had a miscarriage which was just awful, but I hope to pull through and try again. So, to all you ladies with PCOS…..there are good stories out there for us too. xxxx

oh yeah…one question…has anyone with PCOS managed to have any girls?? I’ve heard a rumour that PCOS sufferers don’t have the right hormone levels to maintain a pregnancy for a girl.????

I had a boy, my friend who also suffers from PCOS has also had a boy…..anyone had any girls???

I’m 24 years old, was diagnosed with PCOS about 2 years ago but have had the systems since I was 12. I was on the pill for about 6 years, met my now husband when I was 19. We started trying naturally when I was 20 for about 2 years. Tried clomid 50 mg for a little while, then gave it a break because it was getting too stressful. It started taking over my life. 4 months ago we started trying again with clomid. Twice I have started my cycle without any help of meds, the other 2 times I needed to take provera to bring it on, then I took the clomid days 3-7 and fallowed up with my dr for an internal ultrasound. 3 out of the 4 times I did show signs of ovulation, and one time I had already ovulated and it showed a collapsed follicle. So the clomid is working, just not actually making me become pregnant. We want a baby sooo bad, it hurts! Its all I think about, and I really pray to God every day to please allow us to be parents. My husband has a son from a previous relationship, and I love that little boy to death, he’s 8. But it still isnt the same as ‘my baby’. Keeping my fingers crossed for luck soon, and i’m not giving up hope or faith that it will happen for us. This month I am taking a little break, maybe trying naturally since my cycle started naturally, and next month (if no luck this month) I will be starting clomid 100mg, maybe that will do the trick?! So good luck to all, and know that you deffinately are not alone out there!

Can some one help me, I am currently taking Clomid to help me conceive. I had a cervical biopsy and cold treatment in Feb. My AF wa due 5th of may and normal for me would be to have brown discharge for two or three days prior, the discharge, I got, 10 days later than af was due followed by and even darker red/brown almost black discharge 5 days later, its been 7 days and the discharge seems to be off and on disappearing at night, I notced an lmost vinegary odour today.

I have had very little cramping but more of a sharp pain in my cervix and back ache, I also normally have tender nipples and nausea but nothing yet, done 3 tests all BFN, anyone got any advice, it would be greatly appreciated!!!

I am not pregnant, I could not get pregnant after my daughter, who is now 15, and I am 37. I have pcos and endometriosis. I would highly recommend to all women who believe in freezing their eggs to do so once they find out that they have pcos, your chances of having children may be very difficult. I’ve had 5 lost pregnancies, 1 when a cyst that was so large caused the egg to not have entry & it the cyst burst, 2 when I was only 2 mos along, 3 when I was 7 weeks along, 4 after the 7 weeks & it was too soon which caused another loss after only 6 -8 weeks, and a final loss after 4 or so months. The last pregnancy, I was 28 and became divorced, which I have never re-married. Please stay healthy, do not drink, smoke, use drugs, and work out eating healthy food. These will increase your chances of having children, but don’t over do it, otherwise, that will hurt your opportunity too. Too much excercise will cause your uterus to shift, which happened to mine. Running can cause problems with your ovaries, sex with multiple partners can cause infertility, please be safe. Many prayers.

Well I was diagnosed with PCOS about 3mths ago. Was told to lose a bit of weight and was referred to a specialist. Lost 10kgs and had my specialist appointment today and well… surprise, surprise… I’m pregnant!!!!! Of course I’m not sure how far I am, cause I never get a period, but will have an U/S next week! Never give up hope ladies, when they say you are infertile, don’t give up! I’m a proof of that!

I found out I had PCOS at a young age but my doctor always told me to not worry about it until I was ready for a baby. I am now 24 yrs old and my husband and I have been trying for 3 years. I finally changed doctors and was put on Metformin a week ago. Anyone know the success rate or average time for it to work? I’m just curious but trying not to get too ahead of myself.
